RANGE ROVER RESIGNS

There's a nice symmetry, a poetry, to it. Schwabby and I departing on the same day.

Like him, I've become a lightning rod of late for the frustration, anger and disillusionment of online MFC supporters struggling to come to terms with what's happened to this once great club.

This is understandable. It's bloody hard to face the reality that you support a football club with an ingrained culture of failure of over 50 years standing. One day, when things settle down, I'm quite sure you'll look back and appreciate the efforts I've taken to help you wake up, recognize and acknowledge the situation. If you haven't already.

Today was a watershed day for us, no doubt about it. The day the MFC 'proletariat' fully woke up to its plight. It's a bitter pill to swallow to have the The AFL step in to assume the running - by proxy - of the club, but as the sick patient that we are we must accept that this is what must take place for true healing to occur. It's our only shot at survivial at this stage.

It's certainly better than the alternative had drastic change not occurred ... extinction.

So, good bye fellow Demons. Keep up the good fight. And try to listen and take note when you can of the likes of OldDee and WhyYouLittle. Posters like these men (and women) represent the wise and knowing elders among you ... they are the online conscience of the MFC.

Go Dees. Now and Forever.

We need a few Beers before you go RR.

Its been a big day

Schwab, "Iron Pants" Thatcher & now you!

So long old chum. Although I never engaged in battle with you, if I had of, I am in no doubt that you would be a more than worthy opponent.

See you under another pseudonym soon, or perhaps when the dees next make finals. Or maybe not at all.

Whatever comes first.

I look forward to walking past you at the G' without even knowing it was you.

Caio'

Hmmmm... and like Schwab, I have a feeling RR was pushed....

Ah well, either way.....

Rangey, isn't this your second grand exit within 6 months?

Will you be back as the Hulk this time?

Words of professed wisdom from the person formerly known as Range Rover; "Do not hand this club over any more of your $$$ or a minute more of your precious time until sweeping changes are made"

Words that have infinitely more relevance from Satyriconhome;

"Nineteen asked me to pass on our work tonight on yet another interesting day at MFC

Turned up at the G unaware to be greeted by shattered staff, if the CEO is hated by some, the staff loved him

15 of us turned up tonight which was great, Jason, Daniel, Andrew, Cheryl, Geoff, Dave, Michael, Michael, Stephen, Anne, Chelsea, Judith, Trish, Peter and Geoff who had to leave early, thanks to everybody who turned up including the newbies

Surprisingly we still managed 22 sign ups but importantly about 300-500 phone calls

Some of us managed to chat to Cameron, who made the effort to come and thank us for turning up to support the Club, and yes I shook his hand again

I congratulated him on a couple of things that will be a lasting legacy, the emblem and the blazer, the players all love it, and in case any of the doubters want to question, I hand out scarves on Match Day and we had 18yr old Nathan Stark with us last Saturday, I asked him what he thought of the Blazer and he loves it. I have made a point of asking the others as well...so thanks Cameron for giving us an individual identity back...and thanks for the thanks....and the joke about applying for job at AFL HQ

The Membership staff really do appreciate the help, so next Monday or Tuesday if you want, contact Nineteen on here."

Good riddance mate, I sure will miss your arrogance and self righteousness.

I feel like you might have been better suited to pre-revolutionary Russia, though they might have just shot you instead of kicking you off an Internet forum.

Ciao

Seems this is a more popular resignation!!!

See you in hell RR

Six posts and already at least one flaming RR. I like your style.

We need a few Beers before you go RR.

Its been a big day

Schwab, "Iron Pants" Thatcher & now you!

And don't forget Annette Funicello!!

Please mods, can you lock this thread poste haste - any comments (both negative and positive) simply serve to feed his insatiable ego. Cut off his oxygen now.

As much as I actually agreed with some of what he wrote, especially on our ex CEO, which also just quietly had me doubting my position because of who I was agreeing with, the only thing to say is...what a spanner.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

It's Game Day and the 2026 AFL Premiership season is almost upon us as the Demons take to the field for their final practice match before the first ball is kicked in anger in 16 days time. What are you expecting to see from the Dees today as they take on the Tigers at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
