It amazes me how average Dan Nicholson is at kicking a football. Even just set shots

Everyone here, Don Mclardy, Robbo Howcroft.

Actually Howcroft would make a good CEO.

Im sticking fat with Mclardy

Good work guys, I'm all the way in Nashville but with you in spirit. I hope the boys get a lift out of seeing you all.

Recognised. I'm being positive.

Just seeing Nicho kick like that worried me

Tapscott should be confident, he's kicked about 100 goals today.

Cameron schwab here too

Good to see Sellar training with the backline

If that's not a vote of support than I don't know what is. The bloke is red and blue to the core.

Great effort to all who turned up today, from us Demons here in the west we are with you in spirit. Small things like this are what makes a club and lets hope the support and spirit shows on the field tomorrow.

Go Dees

Just spoke to Josh Mahoney, gave ,e a bit of extra confidence.

Talked about the Rosebud camp, and said Neeld spoke well and asked them to not worry about the game plan, and to just go hard at the ball, concentrate on the basics, beat your man etc.

asked them to not worry about the game plan, and to just go hard at the ball, concentrate on the basics, beat your man etc.

Thats the first step to improvement.

Let the players off the leash and back in their natural insitcints and flair.

Say what you like about Cameron Schwab, and I am not in a position to say whether his axing is right or wrong, but he always handles himself brilliantly in press conferences (such as the recent one, and I remember how well he spoke when the Jurrah debacle started), and he has handled himself brilliantly since his sacking.

And loved when he was on radio with Eddie and Eddie had a bit of a go at 'Melbourne people' and Cameron jumped in before he had finished and defended the supporters and those who wrote out cheques to wipe the debt.

Great ending to the session. They all seemed to really appreciate us being there

Awful lot of set shot practice given we're struggling to get it inside fifty at the moment. They must know something we don't!!! Tappy drilling them from everywhere...

Can you confirm or deny the sleeve for us?

Was at training for about an hour - first time ever - and to me we looked sharp but i will leave the training report to the experts. I took some photo's on my iphone - how do i transfer and attach? Apologies i am a newbie at most of this stuff!!!

Davey and Tapscott looked very sharp around goal. Mitch kicked very accurately once again - encouraging.

I hope they get as much of it on Saturday as they did this morning!

Great turn out. McLardy and Spargo in good spirits and Mark Neeld and players thanked everyone for the turn out. Much appreciated.

We trained well again. Oh boy

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
