RIP Melbourne Football Club

Like when you're making "funny" cracks about people's IQ? Great management, maybe you could oversee the next draft for us...

Well actually I've had some experience in drafting sheep - I think that would help. But - on the IQ question - it was a reasonable "first reaction" response and it did give me a good laugh. What about getting under my wing Stuie - you could learn a lot.

That's not supporting.

And it's damaging because you're trying to influence others to follow you.

If they do, it can do absolutely no good for the club.

Can you not think of a constructive way of helping the club's situation?

According you to you it's not supporting. According to me it is.

And what's the magical power you are attributing to me to somehow 'influence others'? Could you be any more patronizing? Who do you think I am ... David Koresh?

The constructive way forward is for the current regime to be cleaned out and a new competent one ushered in. We are incapable of doing this ourselves so the AFL will have to do it for us.

That is my opinion and I believe it is in the best interests of the club that I have supported for 30 years.

You don't think you're trying to influence others?

I've read posts by you imploring others not to turn up, not to buy memberships, and constantly harping on about the impending doom of the club.

Your attitude is defeatist, obnoxious and ubiquitous on this forum.

But how is that supporting?

If no one turns up at a home game, how on earth will that help the club?

You only exacerbate the club's problems by sending supporters into further despair.

Like they aren't hurting enough.

It's hard enough keeping faith as it is right now.

Do you honestly believe that sacking anyone now will help anything?

Well, I see no wisdom there, but it's neither here nor there.

I ask you, logically, what you think your approach will achieve?

Do you think it will better the club?

RR - what are you talking about? I have not said anything more than 'if you are concerned enough to want mass sackings, you are not giving up on the club.'

Personally, if you would step back from the 'end of the club' stuff and allow for some time (ir. end of season) for another ticket to challenge the board (or some of the board), then we don't have much to disagree on.

Are you on Scruie's ignore list? I hope this gem wasn't wasted.

Stuie loves it.

After all we've done for him it would be heresy to ignore our sage wisdom.

What more impetus do you require for change other than pure survival?

It's possible I've misunderstood what you meant, so let's let that go.

Do you really honestly in your heart of hearts believe the club can suffer 20 more weeks of this?

will keep my auto renewal going for the D's > people get some perspective.

I can fully understand the pain of give give give for no on field results.

For dear Jim and my late mad demon bro, (Greg) who also was taken by

a brain tumor at the age of 36yrs, it is the least I can do. Perhaps at this point Jim

might even ask us to say a prayer for the.club ??

For those who cant control their anger - please keep your voices

unheard if the D's do come back one day for the big one.

In your opinion.

But that's not what I asked.

What do you, logically, expect to achieve, by changing either the CEO or board at this time?

And coupled with that, what will it achieve for supporters to not buy memberships and not turn up to matches?

What is the end aim of your approach?

It will have to.

Because any change now will not have an immediately positive impact.

It can only hurt. A lot.

What'll hurt a whole lot more is not cutting the cancer out now before it becomes terminal.

All the answers to all of the questions you have is contained in that statement.

Watching so many good games of football today, seeing players work hard for each other with and without the ball I don't think I've ever been so jealous.

I'd love to be a Geelong supporter. They don't ever think they can't win, and it scares the crap out of the opposition.

Today has been a strangely simple eye opener. Footy is basically 4 things - kicking, handball, tackling, running. Unfortunately we aren't good at any of those things currently. Our kicking and running are really, really bad when you watch any of the top 10 sides.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
