  1. Just adding those points if they had not been mentioned - the weather I think made them look flat from the start and the ball was not on our side. All games I think have approx 20% luck with the ball. West coast got the full 20%. The other 80% of game requiring the elements you can control : Agreed , we were mostly absent.
  2. Not entirely relevant but just consider _ I think the boys played 3x final games the weeks previous ( not inc our win game against depleted WCoast ). At Optus prelim they were 'cooked' ; almost literally as it got to 28 degrees on ground apparently. Add that to just an absolutely down on your luck day. The pill just was not on our side.
  3. I'll be attending pre-game function at Burswood on Swan at 10am. Will be lapping it up with 300+ other Dee Suppoeters + yelling at the game for all those that cant make it.
  4. Words cant really describe it. The journey we are on. We are all with you. Stay True – Stay Strong. Go Dees.
  5. Avid follower of the Dees since 75 - stuck with them through thick and thin. I built the websites for Western Demons here in WA ; on the commitee. Lived in WA for 22yrs now and its been a hard yard flying the colours in WA through the tough times. My late brother Greg used to drive down from Mildura to watch the games - sometimes I would go with him as a young kid. He passed on in 98 from a brain tumor at 37yrs. The Jim thing brang it all to the surface - it is always just below the surface. Greg was a truely mad Demons man & a one of a kind also. I write this in Gregs memory and he will be there when it counts - win or lose he will be there. Its a really personal journey for all the true supporters. Everyone has a story to tell - its been a long time. For all those before us & for all those that have stayed 100% true - we are back. Lap it up and be proud. I am sad and happy ; an emotional time bomb - its a really hard time for me. Go Dees - do it for yourselves - do it for those that cant be here - do it for us loyal supporters. We love you all.
  6. Went to the game at Adelaide from Perth. It was a personal hell. Umpiring made me almost walk out. The poor delivery skills and decision making by the Dees ( when critical ) compounded it. At the end of the day it seems you cant hang your hat on 'stats'. It is quality and not quantity that wins games. A Game that I dont know if I could bare to rewatch or review.... Sad Face.....
  7. Agreed - can't understand why he was not even on the interchange. So many points to raise for the game just gone _ frustrating to see some 'in play' decisions made that would have gotten a junior footy player roasted by the coach. So far as player changes : Can't understand why Dunn was not played; not even interchange ?? ( as others have commented here ) He would have halted Daniher's flight. Hogan needs to be trialed at half forward or forward flank ; even if he is officially FF. He needs to get more of the ball from the center to stop the 'tag' and also to prove his worth by putting some of his big body into the competition for the ball. Obvious players also need to flipped to VFL just to get the message across. Fearless head down & push through play by Ben Kennedy - Roosy can get the whole team to watch his game and just try to emulate that commitment to the ball. OTHER POINTs : I compare missing set shots in front of goal like shooting a '20' in darts OR hoops in Basketball. You practice, practice and you practice and then you practice some more and then you kick your own ass when you miss and then you practice until it is not an option to have continual 'shocka' kicks in front of goal. What is happening in this game where EVERY WEEK this happens and it is becoming so common it is deplorable. Really puts me off watching so called 'Professional Football.' ALSO : Last quarter against the Dons - Not only continually kicking the ball to 3 on 1 comps , but also kicking ( twice blatantly ) to a no advantage comp down the side of the ground where the SUN IS IN YOUR EYES on the receiving end. I just could not believe this play. Just was really poor decision making for a defence exit option. Just made me angry....er Small rant - there where multiple frustrating points - I don't want to get started.
  8. Agreed - can't understand why he was not even on the interchange.
  9. Dito The whole thing has left me with a hollow feeling May the boys need to have two week [censored] session and get it 'sorted. > Thoughts ?

  11. will keep my auto renewal going for the D's > people get some perspective. I can fully understand the pain of give give give for no on field results. For dear Jim and my late mad demon bro, (Greg) who also was taken by a brain tumor at the age of 36yrs, it is the least I can do. Perhaps at this point Jim might even ask us to say a prayer for the.club ?? For those who cant control their anger - please keep your voices unheard if the D's do come back one day for the big one.
  12. My biggest gripe and best suggestion : Apply tackles that stick and make them hurt. Especially in the first quarter. Too often are we seeing a soft tackle applied because the opposition has just disposed of the ball as they are being grabbed. The players are too worried about the next play and move on before completing the job in defence. After watching Hawks Vs Geelong > THEY FINISH THEIR TACKLES ! And when they don't put a player on the turf , they pay the consequence because you can be rest assured that that player will be most likely in the next passage of play.By finishing tackles you create spaces and also free a passage of play by taking the opposition player out of the game for the next few seconds. Melbourne is not finishing tackles and then those opposition players are creating and assisting the next passage of play. Determination without consequence > make them hurt and slow their game. Finish your tackles and the rest will flow.
  13. Many thoughts on this subject ~ The main being that wars aren't won by whinging, distrust and back stabbing; only by unity, trust and pure determination. People in this forum really should vent their anger and frustration in a positive way. Regardless of how mad they are, how heart broken they are > please show some restraint and pride. One of the biggest problems the modern football club is the amount of social media out there; it mostly adds a layer of diatribe that does no good to anyone. Some bad things that I notice with this modern media element : - The eagerness of the club to continually feed positive info to the supporters etc always taking the good from the bad. They players possibly become inflated with false self beliefs. Negative & constructive feed back is OK. The supporters need to hear it also. Continual positive affirmation to the players is no good in my opinion. I call it 'Little Johnny Syndrome' where all the school kids get an award as to not upset anyone. That is the impression I am getting. If Neeldy does give the players a 'spray' then we might like to see it sometime. ( Remember Ron Barassi at half time anyone ?? ) - Twitter, Facebook and forums provide an open and too easy platform for people who are angry to vent in the wrong way. There is no cooling off period when posting angry remarks ~ they stay and effect players and the club. The MFC has to let us know that they expect players to perform to the best of their ability _ otherwise there ARE consequences; not just blank reactions. There can not be a continual culture of where you take the good from the bad. I think there does need to be a level of FEAR and RESPECT re-instated to the authority of the club. For example the coach should not be the players 'friend' in any way. Give all the players something to fight for > Don't burden the players with such a layer of History and sentimental expectation ; just get one thing straight with them ( In the words of David Schwarz ) " You're time at the club will be short ! " Every player has to lift to create their own mark in History at Melbourne FC. They will not get a second chance. That will only happen with shear Guts and Determination from each individual and the result is the sweet team reward of winning. A little bit less of 'Analyse This' and a bit more of 'Just Play Like There Is No Tomorrow'. Each player has worked their arses off to get where they are - they just need to be reminded that this is THEIR TIME NOW. There is an inner will for the D's to win and that just needs to be ignited. The players are capable of a lot more and I just hope they can rise to the occasion.
  14. Take a chance Melbourne ~ Front foot forward .......... to much analytics perhaps. Maybe a good night on the [censored] is the cure all ?
