And from what I keep reading from the journo's he wants Swan at the same club too. So they can play out their careers together.

Don't know how much of this is true. But if any club has the room for both their positions and salaries, it's definitely us.

Work your magic MFC. It's time for a new era of aggression :)

From the comments made by Daisy on AFL GaneDay, Daisy may be looking for another club. Two specific comments that intrigued me.

- Daisy "My signature will go on a piece of paper at some point", the he was asked with which club, to which Daisy replied "Thats the question"...

- Darcy asked the question "1.5m for 4 years at GWS ", Daisy replied, "sounds profitable". Surely MFC can offer $375k a year or more for Daisy. Daisy also said it sounds good and quickly brushed off the question.

Read what you will from it, but the MFC should be looking at acquiring Daisy, with Flash maybe playing his last season with MFC & even Sylvia as a RFA, things may open up.... If both player do leave MFC should really go after both Daisy & the Frenchman... Then again, they would have known about the OOC quite a while back.

I think the '1.5m for 4 years at GWS' = $1.5m per year not $1.5m total.

I suspect that you are on the money there! There is no way that we would collect him for $375K per annum.

We must never Tip Toe around the big clubs.

Do that and we die.

We fight for the players we need.

Isn't that why we're building a "War chest".....

i would sure hope so.

Tomorrows meeting will be crucial for future planning of any successful template.

Collingwood can't keep all these players without doing something dodgy IMO.

They would've freed up a bit of their cap by getting rid of Dawes and Wellingham.

But not enough of it to leave room for Thomas - who will command some serious coin.

Although, he has been injured and if he doesn't have a good year this year, Collingwood might play hard ball.

Then he could be open to a big offer.

I really don't think Daisy leave Vic as he is a Drouin lad and seems to get back here a fair bit.

But, realistically, big time players in the big, successful clubs are going to be hard for us to entice.

And think of the blockbuster impact of the old enemies playing with some new incentive to build up the spirit

Who knows we could pack out the G with [censored] off pies supporters

Thomas is a premiership player, he is consistent and proven, any midfield would undoubtedly be better for having him in it.

It will take a lot of coin for him to leave Collingwood and even more to get him here but with the current midfield situation, it'd be money well spent.

Couldn't agree more with MD.

Get the old Collingwood boys to start getting in his head and then have the club hit him with an offer he can't refuse along with leadership role etc etc.

That way he can pass on all that he has learn't at Collingwood to Viney, Toumpas and Jones. They have the speed and skills, just no leadership.

Not knocking anyone involved in the midfield at Melbourne, but better clubs absolutely crap all over us.

"Better" clubs?

The entire league smothers Melbourne's midfield. We are below GC, and maybe even below GWS some days.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
