You, by the looks of it.

There's no logic to understand, it's simply 2 points made in the one post, grouped by a common theme.

But go on, you can continue your banal grandstanding by making unfair and ignorant comments.

Might want to elaborate on why it is an ignorant/unfair comment.

I am sure I could find some articles with Trengove directly quoting that he over adjusted the defensive side of his game and lost the attacking flair a bit.

Also explain how a trade re Hogan/Dawes has any relevance to our midfield and its defensive mindset?

Hey DemonDan, we just don't get street music like this here:

WOW!

That was an absolute treat!

I play along to zappas stuff all the time.. i muck around with 'zomby woof' on average, at least a couple times a week..

So to see that was just epic!

Youre a legend.. thank you so much for taking the time to post them.

Its led to a couple of things i hadnt seen before too..

Hopefully Crawf52 sees this thread, he appreciates good music too!

DemonDanElipsis - I am discussing it - I am telling you that it was impossible to get all three.

Cant believe im asking this to the 'Sheldon Cooper' of Demonland but.. did you do / take something a little bit funny last nite?

'ignore history, placate my view, grandstand about not wanting hoges..' TOTAL BS.. whats the matter with you? You know im not gonna buy that crud.

Im trying not to be too much of a smartass but - You are 100% wrong, IF youre suggesting it was Impossible to land all 3 of Viney, Toumpas and Wines:

*we had pick 3 and 4 (gws ended up with 1 and 2)

*we couldve kept 3 and 4 and taken Toumpas and Wines, with Viney at 26.

*GWS didnt even take Toumpas top 3 FFS.. But yet they were going to take a much lower rated Viney, at 2?

No matter what we thought of the situation, it was possible to land all 3..

Again, as i previously stated, we couldve gone either way IMO.. i personally would go the extra mid - BUT - Im happy to follow the lead of Neeldy and trust they are making the right decisions.

Now.. Can i dumb it down for you any more man? Geez.

EDIT: -i should mention that the sweetener for the club to go the Hogan route, IMO, was Barry.

-and the Dawes deal wouldve been worked out either way.. we were always going to land him once he announced he was finished at the filth.

Wrong.

GWS knew we were committed to Viney (the whole football world did ffs) and basically said deal #3 to us or you will use it on him. And that is what happened. Obviously.

Doesn't matter where they rated him- they knew we were committed and played that against us. Like any smart person would.

And the sweetener for the Hogan deal was Hogan.

Not like you to miss the point tho..

The point is, was it possible? Yes it was. ..and whether Sheedy wouldve gone through with his 'talk' or not, is topic for a different debate.

But go on talking about what ifs, or whatever backhand deal you think took place - it is totally irrelevant to the conversation..

No it was not possible. Because if we were not in the Mini Draft, the GWS or GC would make us pay for Viney with Pick 3.

The AFL isn't a charity - you don't get freebies. If you can make teams pay, you make them pay. Thankfully, circumstances intervened and the MD was the perfect foil to get Viney at 26.

And I have no idea why you insist on writing with a different font - if you do it for your own benefit, you needn't bother, the new software picks up a thread where you left off.

Ok..

Now i know youre just playing dumb.. and you do such a great job at it!

Seriously tho.. whats with your 'Font' obsession? You should worry about your own presentation and grammer.. for eg: Ellipsis has two l's.

Again,

My Favorites has an old D/land shortcut in it, which takes me to the old-style 'all forums mashed into one' page and DOES NOT TAKE ME BACK TO MY LAST POST in any circumstance - in any thread and IT NEVER HAS.

I think youve turned into a bit of a 'Funt' lately.. oh wait, did i spell that wrong?

Other than explain to you how we never had the chance to get all three of Wines, Toumpas, and Viney, what exactly have I done?

I hope you are not mixing me up with another arrogant bore that posts on here regularly...

And you should clear your history. Bookmark the site again and marvel at the functionality.

Im just having a bit of fun..

Sheedy is renowned for talking sh!t.. and i'll prove it.

Riddle me this:

*If Sheedy was so adament that JV was the 2nd best player in that draft and was happy to use pick 2 on him -

why on earth was he so happy to do a deal with us involving pick 3, ending ANY chance of GWS being able to secure him?

(and if he was bluffing, we never had anything to worry about anyway)

Hmm..

..and I wouldve walked up to Sheeds that morning, in that meeting, smiled, shook his hand, looked him in the eye and said, 'take him at pick 2 and he's yours' - i then wouldve turned away not answering any further questions and not making eye contact with him again until THE moment had arrived.

We then wouldve had the Mid / Forward choice as mentioned earlier..

He may talk sh!t Sheedy - off the field its his job! But he's not stupid and wouldnt draft a player out of spite.

Im confident Sheeds would have picked 5-6 players before Viney.

I don't understand the preoccupation with Sheedy - he is not the only person with input at that club and they did a deal with us because they could get something out of it - and they did.

We paid 3 and 13 for Hogan and Barry and GC paid only 2 for the first pick.

Your idea to bluff our way through is not original, it was mentioned before this all happened. But a deal was struck and the rest is history. Todd has already admitted that they would have taken Jack anywhere - the AFL world knew he was coming and this MD deal was fortuitous and allowed us to get Viney in the second round.

We overpaid for Hogan to get a steal in Viney and you can believe in a scenario that could never have been if you want to but I am certain that it was a coup for the club and I will stand by that.

I think Jack Viney will be playing under the weight of expectation whereas anything that Oliver Wines does will be a pleasant surprise.

What we need is for the rest of our mids to sort their [censored] out and let Viney get on with the task of slowly developing as an AFL footballer.

I kinda thought at the time we had paid too much for hogan in barry, now i think he would have gone very close to pick one on what he has shown already, but also had a feeling there was a handshake deal to make sure toumpas was there at pick 4 for us, because he seemed to be a fair bit better a prospect than o'rourke from what i had read. but in keeping to the topic, i think both will be long term AFL players, but viney is a better player based on his good kicking to wines poor kicking and vineys explosive pace out of packs.

Olisik The second language of the AFL is lying.

The first law of Clubs is never tell the truth about injuries.

I can never understand quite why but there you have it.

I noticed he had not played since round 1 and assumed there was on injury.

The way he plays suggests to me that he is going to get injured quite often.

I think he should be played sparingly in his first year for that reason.

The way he plays, maybe they should be sending him along to a few Storm training sessions to build up his neck strength.

I heard last week that the reason he wasn't playing was because of a neck injury.

Maybe the problem is with you..?

Again - YOU ARE 100 % wrong - the scenario was entirely possible. What is impossible - is to know what kind of deal, if any, was done.. but please - go on dreaming that you have any sort of an idea.

You can try an sneak it in, but i actually read the posts..

Now:

Did you answer my question?..

or should i say, COULD you answer my question? (..and feel free to replace the word 'sheedy' with 'gws and co' if you like..)

BTW - "we overpaid for Hogan" - You dont think he's a top 3 pick??

You'd be the only one..

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
