NAB CUP 2: PORT ADELAIDE

Featured Replies

God this is annoying .. every single time something happens in Port Adelaide's favour they start getting way too excited its so ridiculous

I swear you can hear them applauding the Power kicking a goal in the commentary box.

By the sounds of the commentary, only Terlich, Magner, Sellar, Davey and Tapscott have touched the ball. So far.

Aaron Davey sets up a goal to Evans (via Jetta)

Considering our team only consists of Magner, Sellar, Davey and Terlich I think we are going ok. Imagine if we put 22 on the park. (Commentary joke for those not paying attention).

Goal to Evans!

The lack of uncontested possessions seems disappointing although kicking with a 2 goal breeze you'd expect us to play more direct and Port to share the ball more.

Edited by the master

They just listed possessions without naming a single Melbourne player, surely someone has touched it?

They have. Magner, Sellar, Couch and Davey going alright thus far.

The commentators are only concerned with Port Adelaide though. The only time they name a Melbourne player or even mention the team is when we score a goal. Otherwise they're just talking about their local team in Port.

50m goal on the run met with indifference and dissappointment, set shot 35m out directly in front as a result of a soft fifty is "goal of the day"...... save us all!

DAVEY!!! this was the first time the commentators have actually acknowledged a melbourne player doing anything good!

Cheers for the score updates in here guys. Never touching 5AA again. I'd rather swim in a sewer. Even K-Rock is favourable

Seriously, people here are getting upset over nothing. Sure the commentary is extremely biased, but there had been 4 or 5 pages of preamble on this thread that had established that that would be the case... so no surprises there.

The way I treat it is to get excited every time that the commentary quietens down.

And to say that they have said something good about Davey only is nonsense... I have heard a few complimentary comments directed at other players and to our forward line pressure generally.

We are winning the clearances and Sellar is presenting well. But it's all because of the breeze according to 5aa. Good to see Evans score.

Interesting Dipsosals 96 port Dee's 59

It's more amusing then annoying for me. I will only hear this once a year. So I take it as a bit of a laugh. I wish they would call it a ball up and not a bounce down though.

I just find it amusing. Letting their bias annoy you would do your head in.

I can't get the radio to stream through any of your links it just replays the same little bit. I can see scores and stats though very frustrating

according to AFL stats Undefined has a kick for Melbourne!

Well the AFL's new ad has a couple of fisherman from god knows where watching live footy but for us aussies we suffer with their website.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
