Training - Friday 1st February, 2013

I'm watching Melbourne train this morning, and whilst I can't yet report on who it was, a player went down in the goal square 30 minutes ago and is being attended to by an ambulance. I'll try to find out who it is and what the extent is.

Not good. I hope whoever it is, is OK. Must be a serious one to bring an ambulance in though. Fingers crossed for a good outcome.

I still haven't been able to find out who the player is, but the team was in the middle of a full-ground drill when the player went down. They didn't move him at all and the training finished for the day soon after he was stretchered to the ambulance. There were a handful of supporters watching on; can anyone else shed any light on this one?

Could you tell what type of injury it was from where you were?

Not from where I was unfortunately - paramedics had a neck brace but I would imagine and sincerely hope it was only precautionary.

Safe(ish) to say it's not:

Jamar, Jones, Rodan, Sylvia, Blease, Davey, Spencer, Viney, Davis, Barry...

That's all I can pick out pretty definitively so far.

You would think that judging by the location it was someone from either the deep forward or deep back line.

I know this is a strange statement but neck brace at least means it is not a knee or a broken limb

You would think that judging by the location it was someone from either the deep forward or deep back line.

It was really tough to see as the drill involved a huge number of players substituting in the forward and back halves from behind the goals, with minimal players in the middle. Mitch definitely wasn't there - he and Trenners were the only notable players missing.

I have a sickening feeling at the bottom of my stomach. Lets hope the attention is mostly precautionary ... you can't be too careful.

I have asked the Club on twitter, blond stands out, at the moment there is Terlich, Taggert and Stark and Stark is with the group in the photo
