Inside word:

AA had told people that he wanted our blood and was going to stop at nothing to get it.

Fortune has favoured us, GM is attempting to and from what i am told has started to negotiate an outcome to get this thing to go away. Supposedly he is after charges but is looking at ways that all parties save face (whatever that means).

that probably explains where Kero got her dirt from and why it dried up

2 fools on a vendetta

1 down 1 to go

Good on Gil for looking for a way out (if true)

Just remember that he's looking for a way out the protects the AFL. If they could screw us and do that they would. Sucks to be them that they can't and maybe they have to cut a deal, but that doesn't make us friends. Not by a long way.

and only if the deal suits the MFC (all parties) i find it offensive to be charged with fumbling the ball.

If we need to go to court to sort this out once and for all we go.

There trying to negotiate, but a certain coach has been told he can beat it in court, CC has been told he cant, we could have problems.

Source?

The same place that he thinks the sun shines out of.

HaHaHa, OK, Gillon's a good guy then, riding a large white horse into town & he's gunna take care of things, & us. Hows that?

What a good guy, oh & the AFL, yeah, their not too bad either, especially for not bashing some of their own & our boys with their own F*@& Ups...

Lets see.

Well they have different legal teams. And surely if there were cjharges, they would be leveled at the individuals who would then choose individualy how to plead.

If Connolls has worked out a 6 month LSL holiday like Vlad, then returned to work, he may plead for that?

As long as they don't destroy the man & his career.

Bails, if he wants to fight it, he should.

It should be their decisions.

With our backing & full support.

Yes but, yes but, you told us CS and CC were going to be sacked/charged and forced out of the game.......... What happened to the source that gave you that info? Sorry that was two weeks ago wasn't it; or was it last week?

Those words are probably the most accurate that have been uttered in the last 6 months on this site dc.

I doubt you could more sick of it than I am.

Following a football club is not meant to be this hard is it?

Add this and the drugs crap and I am struggling.

Wish I was off OS for a couple of weeks to escape, somewhere were there is no Internet.

Hmm I wonder where that is?

I'm the same OD, I've had enough, the year has been soured for me already I guess you get to the point where you are past it.

Am done with the "what ifs" etc. Will just wait for the "actual"

Can't be too long now.

I have faith.

I thought that 3 months ago bb

but it is close now in comparison to July.

I thought that this would be over in 6 weeks not seven months it seems inconceivable that it would take this long, how difficult is it and how much have the Investigators padded this out?

I guess it would have been easier if the only forces we were up against were external.

I think AA just kept sending his bloodhounds out saying "just find something, keep looking"

Until he got his marching orders

I wonder if there are many organisations that air their dirty laundry in public?

As the politicians say never start and enquiry unless you know what the result will be; this appears to have backfired to the pint where everyone is scrambling to get out of it. You can bet the AFL don't want this extended to include all clubs that have received a priority pick and you could imagine the shudders if our council called on the CEO's to explain what went in to their clubs finishing last and how they managed to lose the last, say, 8 games of the year?

too true robbie

and its not just priority picks, its all picks and the GCS and GWS consolation picks

potentially a long list of clubs

I would have thought most would realize that these negotiations would be fluid and that the situation and outcomes will change all the time. In your post you've recognized that he has changed his position in the last few weeks, What is surprising about that?

The events of the last week would almost certainly have impacted on the possible outcomes we will face as will each individuals response to any deal offered.

I understand that alright, but it was with absolute certainty that he declared his hand and as you know only a fool does that unless he is absolutely certain. Then again you like Wilson and reckon she gets it right and has great sources.

What was her last take on it; maybe a bit different than her first onslaught, just a bit anyway.

BTW don't you think the AFL can walk and chew gum at the same time, if we have a case to answer that doesn't change because of the drug allegations.

The events of the last week would almost certainly have impacted on the possible outcomes ...

Pope's resignation? Gotta have a big impact as well ...

Lots going down at the moment, we'll be pushed off the back pages yet.

The nature of the process of mediation of a matter of this type requires some fluidity. There are five parties involved, the AFL, the MFC and three individuals, whose interests don't necessarily coincide but who need to be respected. While I feel the process has been far too long and poorly handled by the AFL, it is what it is, and if there are some sticking points at Dean Bailey's end, then we can only hope that they get sorted out as soon as possible. The AFL already has plenty of bush fires to deal with and should be keen to extinguish this one.

Following right on the Heels of CC, @ Tigerland, they must be buggered.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
