I'd love to come back on here after round 24 and read, "Wow, how good was Trenners this year?? No wonder he was a number 2 pick"

Also to see even more improvement in Jones, much love.

And finally, for us to have a top draft pick who really performs for us..... please....pleeeease Jimmy T let it be you!!!

Wouldn't Pedersen have dibs on 3rd tall? And I rate Cam as highly as Clark and Dawes, not as many games on the board (or media attention) but has proven himself in the ones he's played.

I agree with you in wanting to see Fitzpatrick get more opportunities, 3 goals from 3 games is a nice start.

I agree, I rate pederson as our best signing. I loved the jizz but to swap him for pedo, I'll take it.

- Mitch Clark to get back without complications(that injury can finish players)

- Dom Barry to be hard enough to be a superstar(the only issue i see with him)

- Wattsy to become an elite versatile player (not as far off as people think)

- for a couple of the fringe players to step up and be counted (jetta, tap, Dunn, davey, TRENNERS)

I'm optomistic about the year ahead finals would be an absolute dream but we aren't quiet ready yet so here are few of my wishes for 2013

1. Beat both Essendon and Richmond and finish higher than both! My misses is a Richmond nut and she gave me hell last year and that B@#ch Caro Wilson.

My Misses old Man Bombers nut gave me hell aswell and would love to see another year for the dons pulling hamstrings and promising much but bombing out!!

2. NO BELTINGS ABOVE 50 PINTS!!!

3 Jack Viney to tear it up in the midfield alongside Jimmy Toumpas hopefully in a ripper first season for them both!

4. Dawes and Clark starting to gel causing big problems for opposition backs!!!

My Mrs Is also a mad Tiger and her father Is also a mad Dons fan... We're not seeing the same girl are we? lol

Lot's of it, I suppose OD it goes with being a dees supporter.

We have been starved for too long for a real superstar like a Buddy or Ablett.

Not going to drag up the past recruiting of players but I'd love for us to unearth a real superstar with an early draft pick. Not saying that Trenners or Watts won't get to a high level but doubt they will ever compete with a Buddy, Ablett, Judd (of a couple years ago) or Goodes.

I really think we have 4 superstars in the making.

Viney - Selwood type

Hogan - Jono Brown type

Toumpas - Pendlebury type

Barry - Michael Long type

Maybe even more if you include Clark , Watts , and Blease with their power skill and speed, and all still relatively young.

Good times ahead people.

Hi, im new and these are my wishes :-)

.. For Colin Sylvia to play every game like his mate has just retired. Would be amazing to see him play like a war machine.

.. For Jeremy Howe to win both mark of the year and goal of the year in every game. In which both awards are merged and become the Jeremy Howe award of awesome.

.. For Clark, Dawes, Pedo and Fitzpatrick to legitimately terrify all defenders.

.. For Melbourne to kill Essendumb and for James Hird to get an even tan on his face (dude needs to stop wearing the sunnies).

.. For Jesse Hogan to become the Mountain that Moves + kicks goals (in the VFL)

.. For the "Investigation" to end and for Carro and [censored] to both F off.

.. For Frawley to find his smile (poor guy didnt look like he was having fun last year) :-(

.. For Tapscott to get reported multiple times for being a truck. (but getting off) ;-)

.. I think most of all though... I hope to witness a team that sticks up for each other, plays for each other and wants to win like nothing else.

Go Dees!

My 2013 wish list

- Players should lead everytime when his teamate is about to kick the ball. It's easier to maintain possession than kicking it into a pack.

- Only kick down the line to a pack as last resort

- Take more risks and play with flare

- Hope all players have good run with injury.

- Minimal off field issues

Amen

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo
