New sponsorship for the Dees?

I have mates that support the tiggers too Old Dee but that doesn't proclude them from being scum.

I see no point in forging a deal with our opposition .

We should invest in AAMI (never pay) insurance park and build a decent bar there bar ( with a nice view).

We need to think like a corporate animal as much as i am not .

I am surprised we do not have more assets as a club such as property ,pubs ,land.etc.

If we profit we should be purchasing solid assets as opposed to entering dud deals.

you are surprised that we don't have more assets?

Have you ever taken a look at our accounts? They have not made for pretty reading up until recent years!

We reneged on the Lexus Centre precint? More of a case of us not having the money I would have thought.

mate we should have found the money, this was Previous boards biggest mistakes. They did not engage the supporters.

We collectively could have all raised money to be in the Lexus Precinct, but instead the decision was made that it was too hard.

And we are paying big time for it now. Those extra years at the junction...my god!

What money?? We had nothing but debt???

Oh and you think previous boards prior to Stynes had the moxie to rally the supporters? I think not.

i am sure the MFC could have found the money if the right people had been spoken to.

They weren't.

Take a look at Hawthorn after '96.

It can be done. A risk yes. But good things are worth it.

We are where we are because we did not learn after '96.

It took till 186 until the Footy Department was sorted.

i reckon sponsorship is our biggest issue atm....if the club is asking foundation heroes for help and anyone else

a million or 2 is a big hole to go back into

Unfortunately the tanking investigation has effectively killed off any sponsorship negotiations for the last 7 months. Why commit money to an organisation with crippling penalties hanging over its head and associating yourself with an organisation that is "pathetic and disgusting".?

We can only hope that we can quickly build a positive image with strong on-field performances when this thing is done ... so that potential sponsors start talking to us . The AFL - and the media- have hurt us badly.

i have no problem with the club asking its own supporters for sponsorship possibilities.

Right now is the time supporters have got to be at the forefront.

neither do I .. Why would you not ? its not as though they are relying upon this only, its just another avenue to town ( as it were )

The tanking situation is killing us atm......I reckon for once the footy department looks to have the right set up n people but the tanking situation is killing us of being able to go forward and get sponsors.

Hopefully can end soon but always hard when legal teams are involved

Might be a tough year on the financials front

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
