just sometimes dee-luded i think you are irw's altar ego

edit: but as he often remarks "what would i know"

HaHaHa, good morning DC,,, Altar eGO??? Bring back the Choirboys... sorry, they were a Hard Rockin' band, weren't they.

No my main concern is we don't spoil the kids & undo the great work we're starting to do, as we've continually done in our clubs history.

Realising is the first part of change, & my only motivation is for us to learn to see how we effect our club. Deenial is a destructive thing, for us & our clubs wellbeing & successes.

We need to maintain the 'Rage' onfield, & on the track.

Ha played against them when I was playing for the London Swans quite a few years ago now!

I cut my teeth in the Ballarat League against the Daylesford Demons, home of Chris Grant and his brother Jamie (great footballers), but I see now they have moved leagues and changed their name to the Bulldogs...

Do you play at Willow Grove?

I drove thru to WG a couple of months ago.

And drove thru Boolarra 2 or 3 days back. Got lost they're, lost my bearings, trying to get out, to go to Foster, but started toward Morwell.

Wow, totally lost my intuitiveness.

I got to Foster after driving in circles on dirt roads rally driving, back thru Mirboo & eventually to Foster.

yeah ive been playing out there for a few seasons. unfortunately injured my shoulder early in this season and wasn't able to return as it never returned to full strength in time. Both WG and boolarra are nice little towns. If you're ever going through WG again i recommend going to their restaurant. pretty nice feed, they do lunch and dinner. A little pricey at dinner (not sure about lunch) but it was very nice when i went there.

haha happens to all of us! At least there would've been some good views while you were trying to find your way to Foster?

Brushing up on my dirt driving skills.

I didn't realise the Grand Ridge Road was loose gravel.

I turned around & went back & around, only to find out a day later, I was this close to the intersection. I was up in the logging truck route.

I ended up back on another gravel road so had some fun throwing it around a bit. whoo hoo... geez.

...anywayz, back to topic I guess...

Thanks for that. Anyone with time on their hands may like to go through the list and categorise teams that use 'Grand Old Flag' as their team song.

Waratah fc in the NTFL.

Echunga and Uraidla Districts in the Hills Football

League in SA both wear red and blue. Echunga definately call themselves the Demons - not sure about Uraidla - maybe

Redlegs(?)

You don't happen to be an actual 'Grimes' do you? One of the brothers?
No im not.

The grimes live/grew up in diamond creek however they actually all played up the road at hurstbridge. Although the oldest did play a couple years of senior footy at creek.

I played (very poorly) for Milawa FC in the O&K

We were the mighty Demons!

I was going to mention Milawa and I believe on another wine tour GreatWestern was bedecked in red And blue playing a grand final

It was a few years ago and travelling sporadically around Vic and SA i was amazed at the numkber of clubs that sported the Melbourne colours and were playing grand finals it lifted my spirits not just the alchohol related ones. If I remember quite a few won.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
