At training today I heard from Strauss that Hogans nickname is Hoges ala (Paul Hogan)

Sounds like he better get No 5 then, sense of humour. But, can he tiptoe thru da tulips?

Sorry but I have no idea what you are saying here. Can someone pls explain?

I hate to say it, I'm no doctor and its crazy to put a dampener on a positive training report but I think Clark is a long way off.

I think that's a given. Aiming for round 1, apparently, but he will have missed a lot. Certainly a very serious injury.

Put Clark on ice until round 10 if necessary ... Dawes, Pedersen, Sellar can pretend to play his role for structural value.

Not saying they would be as good but in terms of the team getting used to a 3tall forward line.

2013 isnt too important, 2014+ is

Nathan Jones. I remember last pre-season people on here were questioning his worth in the team and maybe fair enough as well but if one player has thrived under Neelds and Missons structured training regime its him. He is fit and well and massive. He is the natural leader of the group, especially the mid-field and a great role model. I also think the addition of Rodan and maybe Viney will help him to maybe get outside a bit more and hopefully get into the elite category in the league. (well maybe Sheahan's top 50 anyway for a start) Today in the running he started 10 or 15 seconds behind all the other runners and I think they might have done six repeats and in about the fifth run he came up alongside Viney who was leading and then Leigh Brown joined in (he would join in for the last minute, he's big but he's fit and he can really carve out some sectionals and he encourages them along, great to watch) and they ran flat out for the last 30 seconds, Jones got in front but Viney came back and beat him.

Great report dum dee dum, very enjoyable reading.

anyway i seem to remember seeing jones had actually made the top 50 rounding it out :) correct me if i'm wrong

Great reports thanks to all

A couple of talls you didn't mention - Max and Fitzy. We're they there? Any comments?

And as rolly says...leave Clark as long as is needed, and then a bit more to be sure. Mid season even. He is needed for the long haul, and if 2013 includes settling in Dawes and (don't tell that miserable, bitter woman) "experimenting" with maybe Pedersen and Fitz as taller forwards so be it.

I've seen Gawn do some jogging and walking laps. On Friday he was hand-balling into the trampoline with Hogan, Evans and Strauss.

Fitzpatrick was running laps with jamar and then having a one-on-one kick with him. He looks fine and is moving well.

Kick to kick with Jamar and Fitzy might be amusing - just to see where the ball lands

When there's no pressure most people can hit a target.

It's why some players look like millionaires at training, but their skills go to water at AFL level.

But yes, I see the funny side.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
