Firstly they aren't reasons, they are statements.

Secondly who gives a fu$k about spelling and grammar on a public forum. I sure don't. If that upsets you maybe you should refrain from reading them.

It's a pretty simple correction, you can either take it on board and apply it in the future, or get all defensive about and continue to post like an uneducated dunce.

Do you spell 'he's' correctly in private but not in public? Somehow I don't think so.

And thirdly, I'm sick of reading your negative spin on everything related to MFC. If you've got nothing nice to say about the club you supposedly support, then [censored] off!

Which Goddard wasn't, and this seems to be the role Watts will be playing. Goddard was lamented by Saints supporters for at least 4 seasons before all of a sudden they all loved him and he was a superstar.... Hopefully we see this happen for Jack

Goddard was still ordinary in season as a 21/22 year old and many Saints fans calling for a trade

Yup, but many tend to forget these things when they become very good famous players. Goddard is just one example, Dane Swan is another. Anyway, thanks to all those who have provided details on training, I can't wait to hear some more reports.

Negative spin or different opinion to yours?

How about you learn to live with it or you [censored] off?

Its no skin off my back.

If you want to settle and say good things about Watts then go ahead but as far as I am concerned he has not nearly performed well enough to warrant him being taken at #1 over his 4 years so far.

We have been ladder dwellers for half a decade.

A. His had 4 seasons already. He should already be a very good player for us.

B. His a #1 draft pick, he should be a super star for us. Like the Goddards, Riewoldts, NikNats and Murphys

Not quite true. His first two were injury interrupted from memory. He was still at school in his first year and had groin and shoulder issues I believe.

OK so I just checked (which you should do too before shooting off)

He was still at school doing VCE in 2009. Had a back injury pre-season 2010.

This is his second pre-season.

Don't you get exhausted always having a glass half empty opinion all the time? I'm all for being realistic, but there's little that can happen between now and season beginning that will change anyones opinion.

The most realistic thing to do would be to just think of this as a new team, because it essentially is, and it should be exciting to see how things pan out good or bad.

Also, just because you have an opinion on someones comment, doesn't mean you have to give it and turn a reasonable 5 page thread into a 25 page thread with replies

As a matter of fact he had an opinion on my comment. Not me on his.

I am excited over many players such as Hogan, Viney, Trengove, and Evans.

Watts I am not so excited about and people like to get their panties all tied up in a knot because of it.

As simple as it is, i do no think he has lived up to his #1 pick status.

And yes I know he did not ask for that status, BP should have not been so [censored] at recruiting.

Watts now plays on half-back. A position that we have how many players pushing to make the team? Strauss, Dunn, Mcdonald, Macdonald, Garland, Gillies, Davis, Seller....

The guy will be lucky if he is not dropped to Casey in 2013 with so many players competing for those positions.

This will be my last response to you as I'm sure all DL posters are tired of viewing other DL posters taking you to task.

It is not clever taking a viewpoint that is contrary to popular opinion at every occasion. It just reeks of attention seeking. If that's what you are after, you sure achieve it.

I do not think the popular opinion of Watts is that his kick ass and is going to be an AA next year. But carry on...

Does his comment go into the mixed metaphor thread?

I thought it was 'skin off one's nose' and 'shirt off one's back'?

A photo Satyricon. ?

No.. A number of photos and personal observation ....yes.

Your point other than a rubbishing diatribe ?

Did i say he doesn't train hard ? care to provide that ? Good luck as anyone with half an eye for observation will suggezt ive always been one of his greatezt fans.

Ive simply put it he needs s bit more beef.

Canter be that hard to comprehend surely.

Why does he need extra beef.........it wasn't a rubbishing diatribe......I think the problem is everybody remembers Neitz and Schwarz so they believe if you are recruited as a forward, from day one you have to be enourmous.....Jack Watts has had to live with this since day one...........If you can get into space or use your aerobic capacity to outrun you won't need the beef....I for one don't want to see Watts bloody wrestling some monster fwd next season.....let's leave that to Frawley, McDonald etc....I want to see him use his footy brain, play off his man, take an intercept mark and then lace out to one of our big fwds coming down a flank...

Tapscott joined in training later and his kicking in somewhat blustery conditions was a delight, as was Watts'.

Thanks for the info BH, how is Trengove's kicking going? Is it back to his first two years or is he still struggling to get depth?

For what it's worth... I had a chat to Neil Craig, and we've all heard already that we're in better shape than last year, but he seemed genuinely enthusiastic about it and emphasized that we are in much better shape now than this time last year.

4 pages so far and I can count the amount of posts about the actual training session on one hand.

Standard.

Osilik i largely ignore your posts as i can't be bothered with the [censored] for tat stuff you seem to relish. But comments like the one above are bordering on trolling - winding people up for the sake of it.

The comments in this thread about Watts in this thread were of a positive nature dealing with his current build and potential playing positions. You are the one who introduced the idea of his worth as a number 1 selection - a topic that has been done to death, has its own thread (bump it if you want to reignite it) and has nothing at all to do with what was being discussed. Again troll like behvaiour

Yes i hear you - if i don't like it don't read it yada yada. But TBO it is tiresome, particularly when it occurs in one of the rare positive threads on Demonland. I mean really who need another negative out of context comment?

Its a thread about training....pictures of (Looking skinnier then last year) Watts training came up...i discussed Watts as others also did.

Enough of that, anyone have any updates on Evans? I think he'll be a smokey to perform exceptionally next year.

It's always funny to read judgements on the physique of someone as Pre-Season starts...

The oft repeated quote is "I want to have A Big Pre-Season ©," not "I want to have a big Pre-Pre-Season."

As long as they have been doing there running in their break they should be fine.
