All still speculation at this point and if there isn;t anymore evidence then what's been mentioned in the media then there's still no smoking gun in my opinion from a legal perspective.

Worst case scenario and there is a fine & loss of draft picks the club need to convince the AFL that the draft pick loss should be for 2013 given our 2nd round pick is dedicated to father son and Pick 4 is a compensation pick that we're entitled to under the AFL expansion rules, it's not our first round draft pick.

That's a good point, would explain the reason why we gave GWS pick 3 and 13 for Hogen.

At lest if we do lose first round picks next draft we have him so it kinda won't matter as mush

The AFL will wait for MFC to get pick 4 in the bank then come knocking.

That would be smart on their part. If they wait until the draft and we get pick 4 and Viney into red and blue they can throw the book at us for next year (and the following if they want) but we still have the scope for improvement with the current crop.

Any penalty handed out to us, should be mimicked to all other clubs who have also 'tanked'. Carlton, Collingwood, Hawthorn, St Kilda, Western Bulldogs, West Coast Eagles, all should face the same scrutiny and share the same punishment we get.

I think you might've missed the point of my post, I completely agree that if we get sanctioned others should as well. But if the AFL decide to punish us then it would make it an easier pill to swallow if they wait until after the draft because then we get the all important pick 4 and JV. That way the AFL save face by sanctioning us and we still get our two important picks.

Fact is at this stage we are the only ones being investigated, I'm trying to think of a scenario where (if they want to) the AFL can punish us but leave our future in tact.

I know what you mean, but my "[censored]" was aimed at 'they can throw the book at us next year'.

Until such time that the AFL conducts investigations into all team who tanked (funny how all supporters know which teams did yet the heads at AFL don't a have frickin clue) and hands down punishment's to all teams, we should not be punished alone.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
