There's some conjecture about WCE KPP Mitch Brown wanting out of the club and seeking to go to the Saints but I'm more interested in Geelong's Mitch Brown who doesn't appear to be making any inroads at the Cattery where he is in a queue with others currently preferred ahead of him.

Worth an approach?

I'd certainly rather him in any trade for Gysberts ahead of a 3rd round pick as has been mentioned a few times in the media.

I believe Geelong seriously rate (their) Mitch Brown, and his progress has stalled only due to injury.

There is very little chance of him leaving with Podsiadly nearing the end.

As an aside, I still cannot comprehend why we would consider releasing Gysberts when teams the calibre of Geelong are interested in him.

Standards are dropping at the Cattery, they just took Caddy.

There were big raves on Mitch Brown at Sandy in 2008. Better than Watts said some; he's just been very unlucky with injuries. He shot up quickly in height in his final year and was taking marks everywhere for the Dragons. He is listed as 196cm and 85kgs so he still needs a bit of weight.

This snippet from is both odd and interesting.

The only way Rivers can potentially cross to Geelong is if the contracted Mitch Brown leaves after seeking a release to another club.

IMO Brown is a better bet than Gumby or Pedersen.

Make it happen Dees!

From the AFL website this morning - 'The cats are open to trading Mitch Brown'.

However the site also reports that Gysberts is no longer in their (Cats) sights. The salary cap may stop Rivers from getting to Geelong too.

This guy was a first round pick in the 2008 draft. A possible late second round pick?

We'll likely get a late 2nd round pick for Rivers if he were to walk I reckon.

Tell the Cats that if they sign Rivers we'll trade his compensation straight back to them in exchange for Brown maybe?

You would probably throw in any Bate compo if he goes and Moloney's. I still think we will get one compo pick, if all 3 go, in the second round. I agree I would offer that.

If we rate him that would be a good idea because the Cats won't use the pick because they don't have the list room to use it and could on trade it as part of the Hamish McIntosh deal.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
