Now that our pick 13 has become pick 20 those Ben Kennedy/Stringer/Garlett threads probably wont get to much action so I thought I would kick off the first of the potential pick 20s in the draft.

Nightmare has Graham going at pick 20 and has given the below write up on him on BF

Nicholas Graham (VIC – Util)

Height: 182cm, Weight: 76kg, DOB: 12/06/1994

Recruited from: Gippsland Power

Style:

Player comparison:

Range: 20-50

Profile: Have been impressed with his game. Graham has above average pace but what really stands out is his ability to attack the ball and I really like his tackling game and his tackling energy has been a real highlight with the pressure he provides. Marking ability also solid for a player of his size. Uses it well by both hand and foot. Decision making ability good. Also an above average stoppage player and has a really natural inside awareness as well as the ability to read ruck taps.

Does anyone know this kid well? Do they know what his personality is like or what position he plays best?

Nick Graham would be our tattslotto ticket at pick 20. Had a very very good 2nd half of the year and almost got the Gippsland Power the GF win.

Fingers crossed.

Also look out for at pick 20 - Sam Lowrie from the WA under 18's, and Rory Atkins, who impressed me in the national champs.

I have a suspicion that Kennedy may still be available at 20. A few phantom drafts haven't even had him in the first round and hopefully his height might put off other clubs so that he is still available at 20.

Look at my sig.

Would love to get him at 20, but unfortunately I suspect it will go to Collingwood for Dawes.

Yes, it appears we are into Dawes with our pick 20. Hmmm. Clark, Hogan and Dawes seems a crowded forward line (& Fitzpatrick ??). I would prefer to get another good midfielder with pick 20.

Mids: Jones, Trengove, Viney, Grimes, Sylvia, Mckenzie ... + "#4-Wines" + "+#20-Graham". Sounds like a winning recipe.

Ben Kennedy was a possible rough chance at 13. Available at 20, is a long shot IMO.

Hope we haven't gone from one extreme to the other with Neeld.

While Bailey loved the Skinny/Quick/Skillful players Neeld seems to like chunky/stocky/gorilla's.

Lets hope he doesn't overkill on them....we already have Magner, Jones, Sylvia, Viney, Couch as chunky mids and now looking to have Clark, Hogan, Dawes up forward

Clark and Hogan are both super mobile big men though.

Nick Graham

Kevin Sheehan says: “Medium midfielder who is a terrific competitor with great lateral movement and evasive ability. Strong overhead and very good by foot, he has been a prolific ball winner for Gippsland Power this year averaging 25 disposals .Can also play role up forward presenting as a target and applying good defensive pressure .”

Is Macrae likely to slip through to 20?

Probably not but Graham is a good one and may well be there. Wouldn't be surprised if Collingwood took Graham though with their 17 though, don't know why but he looks the type they have gone for in the past.

Height can be a pretty damning factor in the eyes of the recruiters. Remember Anton Woods a few years ago? I think he was maybe a centimeter shorter than Kennedy, dominated the TAC cup and under 18 comps, won the TAC best and fairest and wasn't even drafted. I'm hopeful Kennedy will be available at 20 but who knows.

I can say his brother won the NGFL league best and farest. His dad was an outstanding country footballer who had every chance to play league in his day. Comes from a really strong committed family is blessed with talent and speed Would certainly be worth pick 20!

Agree. If the Pies keep 17 & 18, they are likely to grab Nick Graham. The Pies do also believe they are contenders and Dean Towers will be on their radar or another fwd option like Tim Membrey (he has the tats they like at Vic Pk)

3 players i would like to see us nab at 20......still one may slip, plus simpson and Haynes, i think it is a deep draft until atleast 30

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
