Many, many of you will have met or know of Dudley Phillips not just through his weekly raffle for the club but also through his unstinting support for the MFC.

Sadly Dudley passed away today aged 91.

RIP.

The spirit of '26

often saw Dudley in the old smokers stand after match drinks....Good man.

Very sad to hear of the passing of such a club stalwart! 91 is a good innings!

Lovely bloke who ran a great raffle and collected loads of dough for the club.

Legend of the club.

Used to run between his legs to get into the rooms as a kid in the early 80's - no one was allowed in unless you had a pass or knew Dudley or if you were under 10! Great memories. Won the Dudley raffle 3 times! Crappy printed signatures on a crappy plastic red and blue footy - absolutely loved them!

Beautifully said WJ - I remember Dudley as a very friendly gentleman who seemed to know, and be known by, everyone in the crowd - RIP Dudley.

RIP Dudley, I can remember going to the footy and saying hi every week. Lovely man and will be sorely missed.

Same with me. Condolences to his family and friends.

Separated me from my money many times. Great bloke. RIP

RIP Dudley. May the clubs raffle carry your name proudly in perpetuity.

Worth noting that he got a gig in our 'Team of the Century' print too in a nice touch by artist Jamie Cooper at the time...

"Players raffle, 3 for 2 dollars"...

RIP Dudley

".... or 10 for 5......." which he used to rip off the butt with unerring accuracy..

The numbers would come up on the big screen for 5 seconds while the game was on and then disappear forever!

He sometimes gave us the word on any late changes too before they were common knowledge.

A lovely man and a true Demon.

I watched my Auntie buy 5 raffle tickets from Dudley every week we went to the footy as far back as I can remember. I am pretty sure we have a signed footy from a mid 80's MFC team somewhere. Almost as many wins as the Dee's them selves.

RIP Dudley

Dudley was a great bloke.

I along with many others have purchased a fair few of his raffle tickets over many years.

RIP Dudley

What a great Demon supporter he was. What a lot of our great Club History he saw.

Fortunately he's been pretty unaware of our recent demise.

He really did deserve to be in the team of the century painting as our no. 1 supporter.

He was in with the inner sanctum but never "bignoted" at all. He couldn't be drawn to comment on controversial issues within the Club.

I remember asking him what he thought about the merger debate during that terrible time. He was non- committal, but I'm sure he wanted to stick by his mate Ridley, though at the same time he wanted our club to continue as it was. A real case of divided loyalty .

He'll always be remembered fondly by long term Demon fans.

Never met him in person, but he is still separates me from my money at every game. RIP.

Wow. I have looked at that painting 100's of times. Never noticed Dud. How disgraceful of me!! I will now...pity 2012 was his last. He deserved so much better.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
