Lol... 2010 called, they want their Watts jokes back

2012 tweeted ... they've got hours of new stand-up material.

It seems a little rediculous that the co-captain of the club isn't already on the banner. Give Grimes a Go!!!

And Clark and Howe for obvious reasons.

umm...Grimes IS on the banner !!

I think Mclardy should be up there as well. Given he is steering the ship, this isnt a call to take Jimmy down either, he should be there forever

How range rover hasn't started a poll on this is staggering.

I'd only have players that have actually done something on the banner. I definitely wouldn't have Watts, but i understand why he's there.

How about players earn it ?

Can you make a "banner" with just one player?

A suggestion for the next banner. How about past quality players such as Flower, Lyon, Neitz, Stynes (as a player), Barassi, a couple of Cordners (not David), etc. Reminds us of what we were and perhaps what we should aim for. And no annoying embarrassments should a current player leave or perform so badly they don't belong there.

As Kruger would say

Its time to go (from the banner),....Brent

Can we please remove Jack, Jack, James, Nathan, Mark and Jack from the Demonland banner, and replace them with Aaron, Jamie, Matthew, Ricky, Lynden and Rohan?

Thanks.

How about replacing the first Mark with Brian?

I propose we replace the current members of the demonland banner with the geniuses from On the Couch.

only if there are red and blue roundels shown between their eyes !!!

Time to omit Beamer and replace him with Mitch Clark

Whoops, sorry. I posted this while using my phone, which probably wasn't showing it all properly.

I still think the banner should comprise the coach and the leadership group.

Edit: and maybe Jimmy Stynes should have a permanent place to the left of the Demonland logo/MFC "coat of arms".

Hold your horses, apparently Moloney 'isn't gone yet'.

Clark and Howe, good suggestions!

Isnt a free agent only taken off a clubs list if the club declines the chance to match an offer from a rival club?

Just cause Moloney has indicated he wants to leave doesn't mean someone will offer.

I will be redoing the banner for the new season. No need to take down players yet. If Jurrah walks I can easily erase him from the banner. Ditto if we dump Moloney. But I won't do anything before there is an official announcement.

Having said that the banner had been a bit of a jinx for players and officials in the past few years.

Thats good to not jump too soon.

But please can we put up Our REAL success stories from our rich History.

Premiership Cups & Premiership Hero's, & Robbie Flower, Schwartz, Neita, Lyon, et al.

Putting up our current crop prior to them becoming what they can be, is a small part of our failing culture.

Cant we have a mix of people who have given us history and the people who will make history?

Just have Demonland written, no players, just the emblem. The pics seemed to be jinxed,

Agreed.

Stuff the player banner. Use it to honour our legends past and present.

Good idea - Norm's curse might extend to these images if 2012 is anything to go by.

Infact didnt we start going downhill from the time we adopted the new coat of arms thingie with the southern cross?

In all serious though if you do add Mitch Clark - that image of him walking off being helped with the beard, the bezerker look in his eyes and his lips mouthing the f word in utter fury would be ideal.

I really like this :)

'present' legends? I'd like to see that.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
