Jack Trengove

I haven't see a lot in Trengove all year.

Agreed. Watch Meth Cokes young midfielders last night.

Our captain has a long way to go.

I see nothing special in this guy at all. Nothing.

Do you see a 200 player for the Dees? If so, then that'll be enough. I don't see him being any worse than that, and I'm willing to bet he could be much better than that.

Kids better not take off to international rules this year and miss a chunk of pre season

Correct, not a captains bootlace.

Who cares how many games he plays if he is treacle slow.

My God he is slow.

Played some great games in 2010 but since then has not fired a shot. Harsh call, yes. But it is true.

Point is he wasnt slow last season and before draft. The training regime may be effecting him? I dont know. I hope he gets back to where he was.

Slower than McLean.

Big call.

Has suffered from OP throughout the season, apparently. Not an excuse, but a factor in his slowness. Was not slow in first year.

What the eye can't see the Chef gets away with!!! Poor move to make him Skip...

Get off his case, he'll be fine.

Agreed he will be fine and is a great player. Way to young for Captain responsibilities.

There are worse players than him out there -by a long way .

Looks like he is running with a anvil on his back. I think/hope its a heavy workload and he will thrive because of it next year.

He better improve nexxt year or he might be delisted....dont worry about the captaincy.

Trengove the turtle.

He's been one of our worst players over the course of the season. If he wasn't captain or a no.2 draft pick you'd be battling to come up with a reason to retain him. That's the truth of it.

I guess all we can do is write the year off as an aberration and hope he returns in 2013 a different player. I'm not sure he will tbh.

The 2nd best footballer in the country from 2009...Geez we can pick 'em can't we!!

Agreed!

I've no idea whether it's psychological, or a little undisclosed injury, but he was better last year & I suspect the reason he wasn't dropped for a bit this year was because of the captaincy. Poor decision not to give him a run in the two's, it worked well for others this year. (I also wouldn't have made him captain so young.)

He runs so hard, I noticed him today, running was unrewarded, he will be an absolute gun

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
