The list - who goes at the end of the year?

Watching again today even with the injuries..is simply horrible football at this level. Too many on our list cannot take there game to a higher level. The mistakes are the same every week, and it is plainly awful football to watch. I turned off the game halfway into the third quarter.

If Neeld and the other powerbrokers at the club want people to watch in 2013, then it must be watchable footy!!

I love my footy but for the first time in my life, I am being put off by what this team is NOT doing as a professional level football club. It's bloody bad to watch.

1: We were playing freo with ross lyon as coach who doesn't let supporters have a good time at the footy due to his boring game style.

2: Tired footy is bad footy. I loved the first quarter. Why? Cause we were bloody winning!

How could Neeld come in, in his first season & make any informed decisions, Personnel Wise? You can't do that from only outside viewings, & do a good job.

The list needs a trim, & this one will shape it.

The next, will be a tidy-up, I'm sure.

We all know the limitations, but some will be coach-able & some won't.

Neeld will know by now, who is.

This thread is actually from a couple of weeks ago after we got pumped by the Lions. I do agree with your points though...I've never been a fan of watching Ross Lyon's team's play; I'm very happy that we didn't get him.

My bad it's just hard to keep up with all the sack Neeld,Mission,Schwabb,Connolly,Mclardy and Trade Trengove,Jamar,Beamer and everyone else on the list threads.

So let's list some positives out of the year.

1. Jack Watts has blossomed

2. Nathan Jones has stepped up another level

3. Garland has shown his versatility by playing well forward and back

4. Mitch Clark

5. Jeremy Howe is more than just a Robbo clone - he doesn't just stay in the forward pocket taking marks (Note: no criticism of Robbo intended)

6. Compensation picks for Tom Scully might be more valuable than the player they replaced

7. Presumably our finances are OK because I see no media speculation about the club's 'financial predicament'

8. I can actually discern a development strategy which appeared non-existent for the previous decade

9. After a slow start, James Sellar is providing a big bodied defender which had otherwise been lacking

10. Tom McDonald has shown enough to suggest he'll be our CHB for many years

11. Sam Blease and Daniel Nicholson have added pace to an otherwise slow side. They now have to improve their fitness and disposal respectively.

12. Jordie McKenzie has shown he's not just a stopper and he can actually kick the ball

13. James Strauss has made it back to the seniors after an horrific injury

Some great things there mate.

The best thing of all for me is that Mark Neeld has had a good chance to see this list up close and now will come in and clean this list up.

Im looking forward to seeing mark neeld's list next year.

Sure..why not just cull the lot...coaches, players, fitness staff and start again...like, say......GWS minus all the AFL concessions and assistance. Would that make you happy, dude?

Tom McDonald has to be the outstanding positive for the year. Really warming to the role and allowing Garland/Rivers to play elsewhere has given us a lot of flexibility.

Out of all the good things I see forming in our team, TMac gives me the most hope.

I reckon he'll make it.

Hopefully he makes it with us.

Good positive post. We have also added a quality bloke in Neil Craig and a strong minded coach in Neeld.

Am i the only one who thinks Joel Mc should be retained?

His filled a gap in the backline most of the year and busts his balls and always creates a contest.

I hope we keep him

For the first time in most of your 860-odd posts, I'm going to agree with you here! :P

Joel Mac wears his heart on his sleeve, when it's his time to go he does it 100% of the time, and can really provide that level of maturity and offer leadership that is required from someone of his experience. But then he goes for 5 minutes where he can't take a trick, and it kills us! Do we keep him? The question should be who do we replace him with? Could it be Taggert? If so, I think Joel should be there for 12 months until Tags puts pressure on him.

We are in no position to let any seniors who contribute go. 12 month extention at least.

Take as fact 10-12 will go this year.

you serious? Is that what you've heard? If 10-12 go we better get used to losing next season. I'm not saying the 10-12 deserve to stay on but you can't ask a kid to fill the role of someone like Joel Mcdonald who is a defender who plays man on man.

10 - 12 senior list players? That would be some slash - everyone who is a candidate would have to go.

5-6 mature players? Including rookie promotions?

Looks like we will all need the footy record next year to figure out who is who.

Positive response, but this has been a crap year notwithstanding

    BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin
