Ah Bluey, welcome to Demonland.Been to a Melbourne game yet this year?

No, not for awhile, to be honest, more of an armchair expert these days, it does pain me though, I have provided financial support, but to watch our team, who are not fit enough to run out one quarter, I look on in disbelief, sorry to hijack the thread, think we need to move on from big fat Philly and Tommy, only way to show em is to win a few games, can only live in hope.

For the short-sighted....

These are the qualities, virtues and abilities JT has over TS

LOYALTY

Contested Marking

Tackling

Aggression

Leadership

Public Speaking

Attractiveness to Women

Come to think of it, these are all the things bluey lacks!

Well one out of fifty would put your strike rate to shame, would Trenners walk for a million or even half that,?

We will never know, because nobody would make such a ridiculous offer,

look he may come good, but Neeld has made his bed,

placing the poor kid under this pressure, and I can tell you it is taking it's toll,

The MFC may benefit but history makes me feel nervous.

This coming from a poster who thought that White, Yze and Robbo could have each played on for a few more seasons, hell I reckon you'd still have them first pick every week. I wouldn't be talking up your strike rate Blue, I was being kind at 1 in 50.

How about you put up something positive other than Robbo should still be our full forward?

Are there any current players you like, anything positive to say; at all?

Tommy was to be our Diamond Rob, We need onballers, don't buy into the the poor forward line stuff, Bate, Dunne could be anything, If the ball was distributed correctly

, we probably need twelve onballers ,am really bemused ,about certain contracts awarded to the players, who have sunk us to this level.

Hope the club will recover, certainly not without delisting twenty players on the current list, although some proffesional fitness and injury management staff to help players see out a game would help.

Bluey, Scully was almost our current day Diamond alright, Diamond Jim, just as big a dud on the same sort of pay packet. We dodged a bullet there make no mistake.

You're right about on ballers, we need lots more and quality ones, not just mediocre one paced hacks; hopefully we can recruit or at least trade for a couple. Dunn and Bate have been around for a long time now and they seem to be further away now that they've ever been, it's my opinion that they're getting a game because we need older harder bodies and can't field a TAC side every week. I'd personally love to see both of them make it but just can't see it happening.

You've got to let go at some time Blue, you have to realise that you can't keep players forever, even though they are your favourites. Whitey, Ooze and Robbo were finished or close enough to it when they went and could have only done harm to their reputation if they'd played on.

You will see some big improvements over the next couple of years and with a couple of new players, Viney and the draft selections, the progression of the existing players we'll get there. Get of your ass and get to a game every now and then I'm sure you'll notice the difference in the game.

This comment is far too logical for this thread.

Don't be so precious Stakka all threads meander a bit but generally get back to the point at hand.

Sorry if anyone deviated from your intended topic but that's the way forums work in case you hadn't noticed.

Such a shame my enjoyment of Le Tour is spoilt with the rodent in constant Skoda ads.Feel like punching the TV.Smug pr1ck.

He hit a couple of targets today, surprised me, never seen him do that before. On the hole, he was pretty useless, about their 5th best midfielder, yet paid way more than any of them and more than just about every player in the league, you've gotta laugh at that.

Grant Thomas reckons Beams isn't worth 500k a season, I hope he doesn't find out how much Scully is on, he might drop dead.

On a semi related note, Naitanui hasn't fired a shot since his supposed break out game against Carlton when he kicked that ripping point. Had about a touch today.

Scully threatened to go near a pack a couple of times today but obviously thought better of it.

Grant Thomas thought he was worth $1m a season as a coach so his judgement is a bit impaired.

I looked through the stats today after the Syd/WC game and couldn't help but be impressed with Niknat's 6 possessions.

Looks good though, great leap in the forward pocket boundry throw in that ended up at the other end for a Sydney goal before he hit the ground.

He will be a player but the media do push it a bit much, he is still in the development phase like Jack. Be interesting to see where they both sit at the end of their careers. Thought our own athlete Stef Martin pulled off some pretty impressive things yesterday too, an injury free run, a lot of game time and Neeld pushing him, makes for a very interesting future if he wants it enough.

You forgot Hurley and Martin from Richmond-ones always unfit and the other is a mental midget .

Shhh! You'll worry the demonland posters who are adamant we made the wrong call and get all those who didn't all het up

On a positive note for Tom. He has made an amazing recovery from the chronic knee injury that prevented him playing for us most of last season. Some will say this is triumph over adversity. Yet some ingrates who never appreciated his talents at MFC will call him a malingering swine.

Yes his knee must be fixed after rubbing $100 notes on it.

I'll bite! He probabaty faked it  I sometimes wonder why the cowards don't ask him about it?

Did you watch Nit Nat on 'On The Couch'? Ripping interview! One of the most natural kids I've ever seen and didn't even footyspeak!

You must admit, that was the tap out of the year :)

Scully in sizzling form again today with 6 kicks and 10 handballs, the spud played on from a mark and managed to get a goal touched of his boot 2 metres from the goal line, which I enjoyed immensely. Can't you just feel those media maggots warming up their typing fingers to start getting stuck into this guy as everyone wonders why in the name of God he is getting 50 grand a game, which is over 10 grand a kick at the moment. Meanwhile his side is enjoying a fantastic debut year, with 14 losses to go alongside their win over the other hacks, culminating in an average losing margin of 80 points including losses of 162, 129, 119, 94 and 92. Today they played at home and the Crows piled on 18 goals after time. Hope Tommy is loving it.

Honestly, we are hardly top 4 material so let's stop puffing our chest out to denigrate a young man who will, in all likelyhood, prove to be a very good player, whatever he is paid. Sure, he's not staring ATM, but there's a reason he was pick 1 and is on good coin. FFS, we are 1 game + % off last place!

I find it interesting to read threads about who'd we like (or not) to get with FA and RFA coming in at the end of the year. We won't hear any players saying before the season is finished that they'll be leaving for greener pastures. Yet many of us hope like hell that one or two come across to us, and you can be sure that MFC will currently be in the ear of managers for Cloke, Chapman, Sewel, et al. They'd be stupid not to be.

Is that why we are so p!ssed with Scully, that he wasn't honest with us? Or is it that he's left to earn more $ than we could pay him, money that will set him and his family up for life? It is not that I particularly like the guy or follow his career, it's just that I can't see the point in wasting time and energy carrying on like a child about it. It makes us look like a bunch of sooks.

Surely we have greater issues to discuss, considering where WE are at now.

Given his current form, and had we managed to keep him, imagine the ribbing he would be getting.

Another drafting blunder by the Demons!!

The former - the lies the deceit, the sickness he spread through the club.

No point in going over it again, but he'll always been remembered as a mercenary isolationist without integrity, spirit or sense of what a footy team is all about.

To think that Cameron Schwab matched the offer.....bloody hell.

Honestly, get over it.

And if a young 'gun' wanted to come to us in similar circumstances...?

I think we'd be rubbing our hands together with delight.

This Scully sooking is getting very boring.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
