Players to look at come Trade Week

Featured Replies

Last year was the first time in forever that Melbourne Landed a Big Fish come trade in M Clark.

This year if we do go down the path of keeping our picks, how about looking at players from other clubs that are not yet big names

Players that cant get a game at thier club for what ever reason or injurys have sidelined them or they just need a change of environment.

Sydney have lead the pack at doing this and have picked up some players like J Kennedy, B Mcglynn, and R Shaw just to name a few.

Here is a list of some I have thought of if you got any others please share

WCE K Stevens Hard nosed midfielder

WCE M Brown Big bodied backman/foward

ADE C Knights Small Medium Foward

ADE D Mackay Classy Midfielder has played more this year would of been a good coup last year

SYD B Meredith Beautiful Kick , has had no luck with injuries

NM B Mckinley has kicked almost 90 goals in 48 games

Ben McKinley? worst ball drop of a key forward I have ever seen live

There is a good reason these guys don't get games

Koby Stevens and thats all from that list. The rest are finished except for Mackay who is starting 22

I'm a bit relunctant on players with injury issues but Jed Lamb could well be the small forward this team is looking for.

I watched Jed Lamb in the U-18's a couple of years back. IMO looked a good player. Solid body.

He's not going anywhere. Loves it up in Brisbane, not moving.

Is McKinley still on an AFL list? Forgot about that guy.

Adelaide have a few blokes not getting regular games due to the teams improvement this year, might be able to interesting a few with the possibility of a regular gig. - Aidan Riley, Shaun McKernan, Matthew Jaensch, Andy Otten.

In fairness to koby stevens jumbo he is up against some good competition that he would not face with us..

True md, but surely it's time for this club to set standards?

Yeah still at North

him and A Edwards are to similar and Scott wont play them both in the same side,

Was handy player at the eagles think he has gone ohk In the VFL this year also

We should be really climbing into Shane Savage from the hawks.

Small but has some serious wheels on him. Can't seem to get a game with the highly ranked hawks.

Will add much needed pace to our team.

Josh Caddy from Gold Coast (pick 4 & Ricky Petterd) &

Koby Stevens from West Coast (3rd round pick and maybe another pick in 2nd or 3rd round through a trade of someone like Spencer or Moloney???)

apart from them I'd be looking at Jarred Moore & Jordan Russell as free agents and those 4 would be walk up starts in our best 22 for Round 1 next year.

Mckernan, matera, Harper, coniglio.

Let's get gws back and throw $700k at coniglio. The guy can seriously play.

Also gaff, grimes and astbury if not contracted.

If MFC are going to part with high end draft picks, in a super draft...... Than I want players like Bartel or Judd, not players like Caddy....

Caddy has done nothing in the game, to demand that price.....pick 12 is the most he'd get from me....

The top 2 Picks should NOT BE on the trading table at all. (Our 1st pick, & our 1st Rnd compo Pick, should be Untouchable).

I can possibly see the Dee's offering Pick 13 for Caddy. If we are going to trade with the Sun's I would like to see Prestia in the equation.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
