Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Well you won't Billy don't put us all in the same category.

And please answer the question...Why should David Schwartz reveal his sources??

WYL, in answer to your question, I would like to think that Schwarz discussed this with the Club. It's my personal view, especially given all this regret he has about not being back at the Club and not having any/many friends left. Perhaps he could've gone to Lyon and confessed to him. I don't really care, but it may have been a good way to get back "in" if he spoke to the right people. But considering you weren't invited to the "meeting with the members" (or whatever it was classed as) considering the amount of $$$ I have no doubt you have poured in to this Club, I find it hard to believe that you would know so much more about the whole saga. Forgive me if I'm wrong.

RR, I will not change my opinion about Schwarz. You're obviously passionate about the man, and I respect that. But mate, get over it if my opinion is something you don't want to hear. I'm more than happy to be proven wrong. I don't think my comments/opinion is something to get worked up about though - it generally amounts to bugger all (unless I talk about sponorships!).

He may have ticked all the boxes above, and good on him if he did. If it was because of Schwarz that we landed 2 x 1st round picks instead of 1, because he told Schwab what he knew, then fantastic and I thank him for it. And good luck to posters of Demonland if they "know" what happened, and sorry to put you in my own mushroom category.

How can you say this? Everyone called him a liar (not with that exact word) except for RPFC and me! I don't know 1 media personality that did believe him. Any journo that wrote an article saying that he is leaving are bascially calling him a liar, as he told the media that he hadn't been approached by GWS.

Look up the threads, and have a look at whose side of the fence Nasher (to use rpfc's trick of self-referral in third person), nutbean and others were on. I want my credit for being part of the sucker club!

Though I wouldn't say I "believed" him per se, more like giving him the benefit of the considerable doubt, which may or may not amount to the same thing.

The ox was my favourite player as a lad, but as a commentator he is an embarrassment. I remember watching a game a few years ago when he was doing "special" comments for television and I was actually convinced that he'd recently had a stroke or at the very least alcohol induced brain damage. Every comment he made seemed to either make no sense or contradict itself. The other commentators were stumped as to what to say every time he finished a sentence. Did I hallucinate this?

Interesting views and points. From a personal perspective with the great man, V.G mate of mine was his roommate during his heyday and so I often did stints in btwn there's, the Motel, and pubs across sth and port Melb. Great times but also the result not so good with guys falling into some serious trouble both addiction & repayments they couldn't make. Gun bloke, was full of it, but was never an admirer off the field only on, but now, respect a plenty to get himself back... And I think his determination & courage too face the truth would be welcomed back at the club particularly now to develop a spine in some of these players C Morton if we seriously decide he's worth a penny, definitely J Watts would appreciate it, to stand up to external rubbish, etc.

If anyone can't tell me they didn't hear that knee snap a 3rd time (or 2nd) against Sydney (i think) that disasterous day at the G I'll go hee, there was a deftly silence around the stadium that you just really felt for the guy. The only other time I've heard a true mourning silence around the G was paying tribute to Jimmy... God bless, we are blessed to be the supporters of a great club still

Thanks David, great story, a real shame about players being disenfranchised and no long term friendships.

Junior , Brucey ,Woey, and Millsy just a few examples.

Would rarely ever happen at Collingwood or Geelong, that an ex player would not be comfortable.

We have a long way to go in regards to being a club.

Sorry but I must say - what a nonsense. I suspect his discomfort is in relation to what his "shortcomings" were during his playing days and not because of the "club".

Whilst I am not putting him quite in the same category, Akermanis,Fevola and Carey wouldnt feel comfortable at their former clubs either and again,it wouldnt be a reflection on the club.

Talk to the likes of Ingo about what club means to him and the lifelong friends he has made.

We will never know the true stroy, especially about who knew what. End of story.

With what has come to light now I would suggest that if Scully's story was tried in a criminal court - he would get off (beyond reasonable doubt). If it was tried as a Civil matter - I would think "gornski" (balance of probabilities)

And he wouldn't last 5 seconds in front of the Inquisition (Inquisitio Haereticae Pravitatis)

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
