CALM DOWN!!!

Ok i know you all are entiteld to an opinion, to be angry, to complain and to lash out at the club atm. I am too, i can hardly stand too watch them atm and i struggle going to support them atm. They have given us hardly any hope in thier performances thus far.

I anticipate the rest of 2012 will bring more pain and frustration amongst us passionated demon faithful. WE HAVE ALL HAD AN ABSOLUTE GUTFUL!!! We have all being extremley patient for many decades and now we are sick of it. i hear you all.

We/ the media can blame Don Mclardy, Cam Schwab, Mark Neeld and Neil Craig. You can twist and turn the whole scenario and pass the buck to all the off feild staff. Everyone including the media can say ''Melbourne is in Crisis", '' Sack Schwab", ''Is Neeld the right man for the job''? and co. But the real problem right now is senior players. We all know who they are. Mark Neeld, Neil Craig and Don Mclardy know who they are. It is frustrating and sad. They have shown bad body language on the field by not dont chasing hard, tackling, smothering and running, all the one percenters which are so important in modern football. I have no dobut that if any player doesn't comply with gameday and training requirements they will be moved on. SIMPLE.

If there was a mid-season trade off/delistings/draft Mark Neeld and co would make some big changes. But that isn't the case, we have to wait until seasons end. That is also a time for some of those players to show how man they are fix themselves and be part of the club. If not, then they are moved onIn any job if you are not performing you simply get the sack no matter how good you are at your job?. END OF STORY. With some high draft picks on the cards, Jack Viney and some cash in the bank we give ourself the best opportunity to improve our list at seasons end.

People saying bouycott the games are weak themselves and really should go follow Collingwood Essendon Carlton or Hawthorn. You are only further hurting our club and something Jimmy Stynes would be fuming about. WE DONT NEED YOU.

So everyone suck it princesess and GO DEES.

We really need another thread every time someone thinks they are entitled to tell us all how to feel?

I agree

Nasher can you combine this with one of the other 10 threads on the same subject.

You Go Calm Down Mate

Is it just me or does there seem to be some suspect defenders of the MFC appearing on this site. it's a bit like the Government staffers who call up on radio to defend the indefenceable. Perhaps if the morons, and yes I mean morons who run the club had kept some reports on the players from the Bailey time or had enacted a professional changeover of coaches we wouldn't still be deciding if this or that player has a future with the club. It's insulting to all Melbourne supporters that it's taken to Round 8 for Mark Neeld to work some of these players out.

A very slow knee jerk reaction is taking place, it's taken 48 years to get here. No, I don't think I will calm down when there are things that need to be sorted out now, not at the end of the season.

Just between you and I cannot calm down witnessing what I have thus far and it isnt going to get any better in the short term

Now is the time for real leadership and i am not seeing any other than from Neeld

Don McLardy what a poor presentation same old same old Clear the air with home truths and move on people or players who dont wish to participate. Watch for developments because nobody in the club is leading leaving everyone including two bit journalists and commentators to fill in the spaces

Geesus Calm down!!

Look i acknowledge that some people have seen many more tougher years than me, i get that. What has happend in this past cant be changed and as much as we hate it, we have to deal with it. OK

Some of players haven't ever really been pushed too hard in either the Daniher era or the Bailey era and only now at 27 -30 they are experiencing hard work. I have good inside knowledge that players never really understood Bailey.

Neeld is only giving playesr the opprtunity to prove themselves to everyone. That is only fair in Just. If they decide the want to sulk and not put in the effort well they can go. All the top teams have players that listen, put 110% effort in and always are trying to improve.

Before Neeld came to us he only worked on Melbourne for one game of the year. He did really know what they would turn out like. He was dealing with blokes

Like Swan, Pendlebury, Ball and Thomas.

Go Figure.

The only calm supporters at the moment are dead ones or the recently lobotomised.

Calm down...Nope. I have done that in the past and hoped the club would get it right. It never has.

What other club in the AFL is as unstable as my beloved but flawed Demons. When all other clubs just hum along...The Demons have players running agendas!!

No this time the bastards are going to sort it out. The Ox was right. The players at the moment deserve no more than 75 % of the salary cap. The rest should be earnt.

Don you are the President...sort it, particularly if you were the instigator of last years player angst. Put all parties round a table and sort it out. Door is locked until you do.

No i will not calm down until we start to defeat Top Sides often.

I've "calmed down'. I've followed Melb for over 50 years and will continue to do so. I'll also continue to pay my Trident Membership. But , just at the moment I'm over it. I've lost the passion, the intersest. Melbourne is like the "Marie Celeste". Floating aimlessly. A few bodies hanging on but no soul.

Everyone seems to have good inside knowledge. I thought the guy at the pub had 'inside contacts' and was convinced Judd was coming home and Scully was staying. As for understanding Bailey I'd actually heard the opposite, but anyway.

This is an internet forum and I honestly believe that we dont need to calm down. i think we've been pretty calm and most of the anger has been in the media rather than on forums like this. We need to get behind the club and see it through. But at the end of the day we are emotionally invested so anger is going to flare up.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
