I couldnt find the previous thread but there is no doubt we have broken a new record.

Steven motlop nominated for rising star for round 6 makes it the fourth player this season to be nominated after a Melbourne game.

At least We are helping to develop the youth for other clubs.

More like Greene from GWS was stiff. Get's 25+ touches each week in a battling side. Motlop runs around and does a few fancy things and he gets the prize.

I think if someone went back and checked previous seasons i think the trend would be just as strong. I've thought for the past couple of years it seemed to be that a lot of Rising Star nominations were awarded to players after playing Melbourne. If anyone's got time gt back and check. I'd be interested in knowing whether my hunch was founded. Certainly seems to have been this year.

Isn't Harley Bennell eligible? 37 Disposals and three goals has to trump whatever Motlop did. It was his 20th game and I doubt he's too old. What gives?

Gotta be under 10 games at the start of the season, to my knowledge.

McDonald was stiff last week. He was good against Geelong, but not deserving of a nomination, IMO.

It was the saints game i was referring to. Very stiff!!

Ahh sorry for the misunderstanding. It will be interesting to see who he gets this week. Could be interesting to see him go against Buddy for a bit.

    Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time.     Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded.     Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was.
