Our biggest mistakes

Recommended Posts

1. Sacking Junior. ( Only real leader we have had since Neita)

2. Not recruiting Nic Nat. ( We are in desperate need of a superstar)

3. Picking Scully instead of Martin.( probably couldnt have foreseen this one)

4. Not convincing G.Lyon to coach us. ( The only one that couldve made something of us)

I reckon we would be a completely different team had these 4 factors worked out differently.

Do you think we would be getting smashed in the clearances if we had Nic Nat in the Ruck, Junior still as Captain , alongside Dustin Martin ?

and Gazza inspiring them every week?

Funny how only a handful of decisions, made by the club or key people like Scully and Lyon, can dramatically change the future of a club.

I go back to losing Scott Thompson, not giving enough game time to Jolly, keeping players like Brad Miller for too long, and then capping it off by giving our most loyal servant - Junior - the boot.

Sacking Norm Smith.

That is where it all started. In the modern era of football which began in the mid 60's with TV & advertising this club has been completely out of its depth.

And as much as i hate to say it...clueless.

This coach and football dept are our last chance i seriously believe.

Bring on trade week. The season is going to be very painful.

But as long as careers are ended soon i will back Neeld & Craig & Misson.

Our captains are too young. But there is no one else to do it.

What you dont mention is what a farce the club is at board level

we need a really strong no nonsence president and board

We were getting things right with Barassi/Jordan. the fruits were there for Northey's team plus schwabby added a few interstate recruits to top of the list. But barassi/Jpordan had moved on then the Schwab recruiter took an job offer over the park & others went.

The wheels stopped being renewed and we let it eek away. we had a good list through the '90's but not the off field & footy dept Nouse, to keep things tough & right.

This is where a good CEO & President is Paramount.

Its for these loyal fans that the players have to show a bit of spirit for. The ones paying their wages through endless memberships.

The ones that stay the course through thick and thin and continue to be positive .

Knock the players if they are weak but 23 frees to 1 in a half makes it impossible to win a game .The result was decided by the umpires and the crowd by half time .I would give up if I had to play with those umpires.he players did well to keep chasing .

Jackaub, you sound like your just out of nappies.

To understand the problem you have to understand what has taken place to identify the issues, in order to remedy them.

Too many just think I'll have a crack & go nowhere.

We had a fair list through the '90's & underperformed.

We had a soft list since 1999ish & this has brought us to this point.

We have no choice but to push on. This contested footy Idea is the soundest Idea I've seen since Balmy left us. Substance first before flashiness.

IMO Mark Neeld is on the right track re the leadership issues, & the contested footy ways.

Surely you can see that, even if your a bit young.

There's No space & no where to hide out there in todays footy so you just have to get the hard ball. Everyone has to be a hard ball winner.

Ok. I just wanted to clarify that.

The Football Department will sort out the list. Sadly we cant sack 15-20 players at one time.

Or can we? I think Mclardy is fine. Our footy Dept is still new. They will sort the choir boys out.

Make James Magner the sole Captain.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
