Does he actually need to have DumbItriou to say he can train or play? He hasn't been found guilty of anything - do we still have a presumption of innocence in Australia? I know Bob Brown would like that to be removed should you be a media owner, but he hasn't managed to worm that one through his Parliament, yet.

I think he does. If a player brings the game into disrepute etc etc............................

Not sure what beats 2 serious charges of crimes of violence (alleged). Murder?

Best case for me is he stands down ( but trains) til the issue is resolved.

IMO Jurrrah has been handled very kindly/gently.

Hope he makes it.

Great to see jurrah picking up davey 7:30 this morning to go to training. Reading his book, getting up and going to training was one of jurrahs main challenges in the early days, I would like to believe jurrahs comments and attitude to training and playing is an indication that he does not believe the impending court case will stop his afl career. It would hard to be motivated to train if you thought in a few months time you would be prohibited from playing.

Meanwhile, embattled forward Liam Jurrah has resumed training with the senior group as part of his belated pre-season training program.

Jurrah's surgically repaired wrist is also on the mend but no date has been set for his return. He is likely to need a month in the VFL before he would be considered for a senior berth.

''I spoke to [director of sports performance] Neil Craig today and he said he [Jurrah] is going really well, has settled down and is trying to get right,'' McLardy said.

''He said he [Jurrah] was training with the main group.''

Apparently he's just had the last pin removed from his wrist and is feeling much better about things as a result. Is now with the rehab group rather than running laps on his own. Sounds like a positive step.

Good to hear, really hope to see him back mid-season; giving him time to deal with court and recover from his injuries. He is a massively important cog in the team, and he will be missed in opening part of season.

Great to have LJ back in the full rehab fold. Bruce has been outstnding in his support to him and I agree with JCB, that, he owes to himself,family and friends to really try to gain something special out of this year by playing at his best.
