This is what gets me upset when you lose top players before the season it could hurt bad and sen just said jurruh will have to come back through the v.f.l this is really not looking good lets hope that grimes has not done much damage

What I hope is that it isn't too bad and that he can return by either Rd 1 or at least in the first 4 rounds.

Man, so unlucky.

I want to finally be at a game and wear my Number 16 Guernsey and actually see him play...

Anyone actually at training this morning who can fill in any details?

This is scary, hanging on more news. If it's serious that is so devastating for both him and the team.

Hard to say by looking at the photo's as to whether it was Davis hitting him from behind or when he hit the deck.

Didn't look dislocated.....Might just be bruised

Having done 5 shoulder dislocations in my footy so far.. only 22 :(.. it doesnt look like a dislocation more just a stinger or a sublax.

Sublax shouldnt be more then a few weeks, all it is when he hit the ground the shoulder would have moved in the socket a bit and goes a stiff and you can't lift your shoulder above your head.

I would be very suprised if the physio was doing that on the ground if he actually dislocated it or broke the collar bone. The collar bone break normally sticks out and they would know right away.

I am thinking this was just a minor impact injury and afl.com.au getting all up and about cause they had people there watching training.

If I am right, expect him back for round 1 at the latest.

So, assuming he is unavailable for Saturday's game (although the pics are pretty inconclusive), who will lead the team?

Pics

Left shoulder? Collarbone?

Going through that slideshow (footy in cartoon form) I don't think it will be too bad.

Give him the praccy games off and see you in a month.

Geez I hope you're right.

isnt Missons job to make sure our injury list is reduced? to be honest it dosn't look any shorter then last year...

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
