Why on earth would they schedule it for a time when people will be at work? Wouldn't it make more sense from a PR perspective to make it a Saturday games so more people can watch? I would love to go to this, but I won't finish work until 6pm.

They did this and played it on a Saturday back in 2010. Took my son and we had a great time!

Pretty good turn up there too from memory.

I agree that it should be on a weekend...

Pity, cos I would make the trip from Traralgon to go again if it wasn't on a wasn't on a weekday.

I know it means little, but I would be interested to read what some of the posters on here think some of the match-ups could be.

Or do they constantly rotate players around?

It's hard to envisage the match ups this far out although the one that would interest me would be James Frawley v Jack Watts or Mitch Clark.

If you want to know what to expect from the game and going by past years' intraclub games, there would probably be around 30-32 MFC players with the numbers topped up by 10 to 12 young Casey players. With that happening and plenty of rotations, particularly if it's a hot day, then the likelihood is that there won't be too many match ups that last for long periods during the games.

Rather than specific match ups I'd be more interested at that stage in where certain players are being positioned e.g Blease, Davey, Grimes and Morton. I think there will be a reasonable amount of experimentation and feeling out of where individual players fit in best with the coach's structures. We have at least, been given some indications at training as to which positions many of the players will take in the early months of the season

There's been a time change for the intraclub game. Now starts at 3:00pm.

Intra-club time change

Wow. They're really determined to play in front of no spectators this year.

I've figured it out. Neeld comes from Collingwood, and since none of their supporters are employed, they would get a good turnout at 3 on a Friday afternoon. He just needs to adjust to fans who work for a living.

The time of the day doesnt matter to me so much as the date.

Having the intra-club only One week before a scheduled NAB Cup fixture seems too close.

This may mean we cant see some players put it all (or a fair bit) on the line. At all at all.

I expect to read online some good excuses for major letdowns.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
