Part of the 1990 sob story, came from well behind at 3/4 time to get up. Should've played off that year

Excellent win, remember it fondly, Ricky Jackson destroyed the Bombers while Madden and O'Dwyer belted the hell out of each other for 4 quarters.

Great game that one. Last time i ventured to windy hill. Ian Robertson's commentary of that match was first class.

O'dwyer v Madden. Teeth were left on the ground that day.

Gold............and because what many outside MFC forget is that this is the kick that delivered us Jack Trengove.

We were always going to take Scully first. This goal allowed us to get the bloke many believe will be our next long term captain.........

#5 Froggie, GF 1964 is surely the one that would bring a tear to any Demon fan old enough to remember.

I hope that one of young guns will be able to emulate this memorable moment very soon.

How could anything from 1964 to now possibly beat that?

i thought it was funny! it got us two priority picks who for all we know at the current time could be equal too or greater than our original anyway.

and most of them belonged to alan ezard, who was poleaxed into the turf by a bonecrunching todd viney tackle during the last quarter

good times

and i agree with you about robbo's commentary WYL... used to really enjoy his calls

Todd Viney - first quarter of our opening final in '87 after all those years in the wilderness. Running hard toward the boundary, Members side kicking to the city end, straightened, screwed the ball back in from about 45, never looked like missing - what a start ! Never looked back from that time on - ON FIRE !!!!!!

Never forget the roar as that ball went dead straight through those sticks.

May we hear it again soon.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
