with the revised and extended format, the umpys will really need an umpys assistant...

and no one has yet put their hand up...

it involves running water to them when they signal...

one of our umpys is VFL, but is still keen to help us out...

would really appreciate it if you would volunteer for this job on Sunday...

still leaves you free to help out in many other ways - waterboy, goal umpy, coaches' runner, timekeeper etc...

the helpers are stretched thin...

saints organiser says we should bring the big carl trophy, because it is going to change hands on sunday...

assume it will be no problem for you to bring it ??

(we should at least give them a look at it before we win it again)...

for first timers, I should explain that big carl (named for carl ditterich) is the trophy awarded for the winner of the saintsational/dees matches...

unlike you, mate, I have never missed a forum footy game...

been reminising with the saints organiser about our first ever forum footy game...

we were ahead by 8 goals going into the last quarter...

sainters came home with a wet sail, but we won by 4 points...

people questioned the last goal umpys decision in favour of the dees...

but as the umpy concerned,

I thought it was a goal to give us a win against the play....

didn't help that the player who kicked the goal (freak) subsequently posted on site that he thought it was a point...

but we have moved on...
