At last ...

Fcuk Sam has got some speed!!! He is going to love playing on the MCG regularly.

Just loved his game, it was a bright spark in a very hard year...I hope the Form of Blease helps Tom Scully remain in town....very close those 2 i hear.

Well done Sam....no more kick to kick in the backyard though!!!

The kid will be a gun.

Can someone explain why it's taken so long for him to get a senior game?

Um geez hard one, maybe it was the broken leg or maybe the lack of fitness, or it might have been the largely uninspiring VFL form until midway through this year. Tough to tell really.

Badly Broken legs need very careful management-His was a bad break.

Strauss will be very similiar...6 months before he can resume training...then you must rebuild muscle that has literally wasted away...

Long Job. I have had dealings with Physio Therapy.

Great stuff about Blease.

He has many of the attributes that this side is lacking. He is part of the exciting young group we have going forward.

I look forward to 2012

Last bit is correct I think.

I saw him 3 times early in the season and he looked anything but an AFL standard player.

However he has slowly come on as the season progressed.

I have to keep reminding myself he had a very serious injury and was out for the best part of 1.5 seasons.

2011 has really been his first full season since being drafted.

Nice to see Blease given the nomination. We was close to BOG for us against the Suns.

He has had a number of setbacks, but he certainly looks like he belongs at the top level.

I realise he was out for ages recovering from a very serious broken leg, but my query was really about why he's been playing at Casey for a while now, instead of with the seniors. Anyway, it doesn't matter now. I don't expect he'll play for Casey much (if ever) in the future.

Frank Adams exit stage left (1964), Sam Blease enter stage right (2011).

So true Bushy....Blease WANTS the ball, he is not frightened to get in there.

His attitude is needed around the ground....On saturday he reminded me of a Turbo Charged Jordie Mckenzie, as if Jordie had gone to the HSV performance workshop!!!

Due to the above ,Sam had lost a great deal of confidence- but to win a nomination like this in his 3rd game must surely set himself up big time with a huge pre season for 2012. Great stuff Sammy.

It would be all about confidence i am guessing RB....Blease is in the side for speed...a broken leg takes all that away.....for a time.

But he certainly let it rip from centre half back a few times last saturday!!!

He will be right to go now for a full pre season.

Think I've mentioned on here, mate from work knows him and doesn't like him, reckons he's up himself.

I don't give a rat's. If he keeps jetting like he did Sunday, he can be the biggest [censored] in the world but he's OURS.

Stoked for Blease. Slightly off topic, does anyone know what his nickname is? I've started calling him Geez, as that is what I kept saying every time he took off for another blistering run up the guts :)

... and not just with Blease either. The whole team is lacking in it. So much of footy at this level is about what's going on upstairs.

Well done Sam.

Sam Blease playing well and Jack Trengove signing will get me to next year. Let's hope the rest of the club can follow their lead. Pace, Determination, Will to succeed and COMMITMENT to the Red and Blue.

I love this bloke, not just his speed but his attack on the ball and his confidence to take the game on.

Have heard time and time again that a broken leg is a two year + injury and thats about where Sammy is at.

I really enjoyed the catch cries in a fearly dull crowd on Sunday, every time he got the ball the crowd lifted "RUN SAMMY"

He is going to thrill and provide alot of great moments for our club for a long time to come.

Good on you Sammy......Keep Running!!

Blease Lightning! Not a very practical footy nickname (I'll bet the boys have gone with the ever so creative "Bleasey") but it's what I think every time he jets off. That, and that "sneeze" sound cars with nitro make.

Haha, nice one. Think I'll stick with my 'Geez" though. Still got me buggered how he runs and weaves and leaves all in his wake. Brings a smile to my dial just typing this :)

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025.
