Sylvia's tweet

About 4 hours ago Sylvia twittered or whatever it is asking if anyone can recomend any hotels in Sydney to stay as he's heading up there for a few days this weekend.

Now I know his season's over due to suspension and he's entitled to a personal life. However it just caught my eye as odd that he's heading up this weekend while the rest of his team are finishing up for the season in Adelaide and Casey are playing finals.

Talks with GWS or Sydney? Who knows??? It just caught my eye that's all, especially with him out of contract.

Curious as to if it caught anyone elses eye?

And if he was going to see GWS i think they could put him up for the night no? only polite :P

Ahh, contract time, don't you just love it.

Yeah, I'm sure Col just innocently slipped that one out there...

Where's a good hotel in Sydney to stay? Heading up there next wkend for a few days... Bondi?

Sounds like its the weekend after the season is finished, not this weekend. We'll find out eventually.

Yeah saw it, at the time I wasn't really impressed, but looking back on it now it's more than likely nothing, he may be going for a holiday or relatives or anything. Nothing to really worry about I think boys.

I'm worried that he's going to be poached by Macquarie Bank.

He's gone!!! you can tell by the way he played last week.

The sky is falling

He is probably checking out houses like Rick Petterd did last year. :P

When you are being poached by another organisation, you have to pay for or find your own accommodation?? HA HA! Tweet away Colin, If he is too thick and posts his contract negotiations on twitter then he deserves what he gets...

I saw it, and my instant thought was "next" weekend as he said, and not this weekend as some of you are alluding to. IIRC, Nathan Jones came up to Sydney the weekend after the season finished last year, wonder what he was up to? Seriously guys, give him a break, people do go to Sydney for a holiday from time to time.

Are Colin's holiday plans realy a talking point? If he was going to Burke would we think he had singed with them??

Mclean left and we got gysberts... Mclean can't even get a game. Col can take his chance

Im sure im not blowing this out of proportion but col tweeted he had lunch in Mitchell Street, thats in stkilda, he also said he was at the bake house in port melbourne just around the corner from stkilda, 2 and 2 hes off to the saints next year. Its seems years of playing carmen Sandiego have paid off.

I always feel a little bit embarrassed for the OP of threads like this.

Why, thats unfair, this is a footy web forum. What do you expect?

It isn't Capitool Hill.

Hahahaha, forgot about that game. Geez I was chuffed with myself the first time I caught her B)

why does he let everyone know? Probably

wants the media to start talking about him, I definately don't want him to go but............

My bad. I just read it as meaning this weekend rather then the following, so if that is the case then I have clearly taken it the wrong way. As you said people do go to Sydney for holidays, but then again if you ask me I have no idea why anyone would want to go there for longer then an hour while switching flights!

Hahaha!! Just starting a talking point in case anyone took it the way I initially did, although it does seem I've misread his tweet.

He's going to need to buy a professional grade, heavy duty GPS to get from Bondi to GWS.

Probably better not to have one of those ones stuck to the windscreen. Would last 5 minutes in a parked car in western Sydney.

As G Lyon would say that is just scurrilous!

Why would he broadcast that to the twits on twitter then go to Sydney and talk to Sydney and GWS, he would be closly marked by Bloodhound Barrett and Mr 98% Hutchey just for the fact that he is a Melbourne player and their association with Mr Lyon!

Twitter will rot your brain!

Enjoy the surf Col!

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
