An open letter to the Club

I know that some at the club read this board, so this is my attempt to pass on how I feel.

Jim Stynes - rest and relax, you have done enough

Don McLardy - keep everybody on the same page

Gary Lyon - you have talked the talk, now walk the walk

Cameron Schwab - run the Administration and the business, you are good at it, keep your nose out of the football

Chris Connolly - tell us exactly what you do, apart from being a good MC

Todd Viney - be ruthless for five weeks, we will love you for it

The Leadership Group - Bloody Lead

Jordie Mac, Trenners, Jack Watts, and Gys - if some of the players don't follow your example, let them know it, because we will

The rest of the players - have a bloody crack and show some passion and fight

To everybody - there are now 36000 of us, if you don't get it together we can and will force change....

I will be there on Saturday, like I always am for every game, but if you want 36000 of us next year, Saturday is day one.

and finally

Dean Bailey - thanks for the chats, the humour, the honesty, the integrity, the real passion you had for the Club, you gave it everything you had......best of luck for the future, you won't be out of the game long

What you going to do ... That sounds like a threat. No way to enter a period of negotiation. You 36,000 your talk does not correspond to your weekly actions.

If 36,000 turned up every week we wouldn't be in this position.

No you want the results before the hard work. Sorry it doesn't work that way.

It is not a threat, the 36000 'own' the Club, if a shareholder doesn't like the direction a company is taking they can make a change, I am saying and I would assume not many of the 36000 have enjoyed reading the newspaper since last Saurday and it needs to improve starting Saturday otherwise the is always the danger of a takeover

I always walk the walk by the way, haven't missed a home game since I became a member, and although I am loathe to mention it, I volunteer as well, not because I have to but because I want to, because I love the Club, I just want to see the players doing the same...so you probably picked your scarf up from me..that's assuming you attend the games

If you did a quick poll here most apart from interstaters do go to every game. We do walk the walk. Do you? Does every Collingwood supporter turn up for every game? You are full of snide comments that usually are so vague and full of innuendo.

Football is entertainment, and we aren't getting much entertainment. It's not life or death. I'll be there, but leaving the 6 year old at home. Mentally he's had enough of the season. Can't blame him.

The only issue i have with going on saturday is that although we are supporting the club, in a way its showing support for the playing group as individuals, who wear our jumper. Last week they showed they dont care about us, why should we show care for or support them. I wont be supporting the players until they show some respect in return.

Have I been watching a different player over the past 6 weeks? The bloke I see with number 5 on his back has been far from inspiring in my view. I know he's only a kid, but he's terribly out of form if you ask me.

Same player, one of the many who has been overshadowed by direct opponent. It takes some a while to adapt to the rigours of AFL level, in both strength and endurance as well as repeated efforts. I put him in this basket and expect an improved player who will become more rounded as he progresses. You're right, he's still a kid.

Supporters with important prior engagements and those under 10 years old are excused.

Everyone else should be there.

EDIT: Including you stranga. Disolusionment, while understandable is no reason to bail. I'm not going for the players, the board and certainly not the administration. I'm not even going for Jimmy. Just the colours.

Fantastic ... ok ... IMHO the 36,000 dont "own" the club they merely borrow for a period of time it for the next generation. We have the obligation to pass it on to them in better shape.

We are in a watershed period, this passion is great. Lets harness it in a positive way. Lets not single somebody out to blame. We are all to blame.

PS Love the scarf thanks ... I send many overseas every year to my family. They love it ... keeps them warm in a cold winters day and reminds them to keep an eye on the mighty demons. They are not quite as passionate as us ... but they appreciate the gesture.

PSS Just to thank you further and show what your great work can achieve ... part of my wifes family immigrated to Australia last year and the simple act of giving them a scarf helped them in their descion in choosing us ... and yes they bought a membership last year and this ... they are one of us now ... so thank you from the bottom of my heart.

We are not all to blame, I have given my unconditional support, I have bought my membership the day they went on sale, I have attended functions, AGMs I have tried to be a voice of reason on this board, I have supported players to the hilt,I encourage at games, and I have a go at any supporter who berates an individual player, but what was served up on Saturday was totally and completely unacceptable and only two or three players could walk off with their heads up.

If there are internal issues at the Club, and one can never know the whole truth, but show me an organisation where some people don't have their own agenda, then fix them and fix them now.

I know this is only football, but we are asked to be passionate about the Club, I want to see the same from those in the Club.

If you read a lot of the posts on this board, a lot of long time supporters believe the Club has been apologising for things for too long, and not acting on issues I couldn't see it before but I see now.

And I forgot one in my letter.

Tom Scully and anyone else on the list - if are going to GWS tell us NOW so we can move on and fix whatever is ailing this great Club

If not for the supporters but do what you have tried before do it for JIMMY

Good effort Satyricon. I agree with almost all of your sentiments and don't feel a need to modify what you have expressed. I will be there Saturday, as I am, with kids in tow, every game we play at the 'G'.
