Looks like the GWS have signed up at least half their list to extended contracts. Don't think the other clubs are going to be able to raid them as easily as they thought.

Just offer them a few bananas, Redleg, and watch them come running ... even a smoothie if they are any good!

Boys obviously got into the bananas on the flight over and thrashed Port by 2 points. With 21 players out compared to Port's 15 out that has to be encouraging, especially as played in the heat at Renmark.

I would imagine the Dees team next week at Casey, will be completely different.

Just spent two days hiking the high country around Eildon. I fully believe the Bananas with yoghurt ( along with the bacon and eggs ) break key seriously helped me get through the days !!

Sunk many a tinnie (vb) in the search of greater consciousness lol.

Now it's just healthy stuff in prep for a Nepal hike.

Ahh the serenity :) lol

My meal replacement shake tonight was, yes you guessed it, banana flavoured. Actually it was ordinary.

The only thing that can replace a meal is another meal.

Rode horses up there for ten or more years....Beautiful contry and people......Luckily the horse did most of the work.....

And who needs water when the beer is flowing....

I hope it is only me but I am having real trouble finding any enthusiasm for AFL Football in total this week.

May be the effect of 8 months of the tanking saga, Drug/ crime investigations, MFC poor NAB form and Buddy fiasco today.

I doubt I have ever been this disinterested in early March.

Normally this the best time of the year for a MFC member.

But this year Zero

Bit hard when 2 out of 3 weeks we are not on TV in the NAB Cup, yet the power clubs are on every week.

Not sure that would have made any difference Redleg.

Has it every been any different.

As always win games and get powerful.

easier said than done I know but that is the solution

You're not drinking enough red wine od.

Too hot Bbo

and the single malt is empty.

life is full of problems

It's time to " man up" Od. CHill the Shiraz for 15 minutes. And... while you're waiting, look above, and think about about the possibilities of peeling a banana.

Probably head out to Casey for the game. What's the banana situation like out there?

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
