Biffen 12,949 Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 If we lose today I will be blowing chunks. I can't see it happening. I'm hoping we can smash them by about 15 goals and start the press gang turning on the little talking computer they have as coach. Buckley,Bolton,Eade, will all be sacked during the year in long slow assassinations. Should be fun. Quote

Yes, James Joyce told me in his quaint Irish Brogue that, basically, she was a swell gal. Perhaps you may have had an affair with Ezra Pound? Now, there was a sharp mind... Quote

I actually teared up as I passed some very familiar names when I drove through there the other day. BTW, speaking of wine, have any of you boozers read that the tax on wine is under review? It seems we may have to pay more for a decent red but I'm not sure what impact it will have on the fourpenny dark that Biffen and Moonie quaff. Won't effect old dee of course as he shmoozes free pinos. (Which he refuses to share I might add) 1 Quote

Might even have to drink using a glass vessel rather than the usual 'layback' technique. Culture with a capital K. Quote

The last thing I need is an extra tax burden when I order my usual latest vintage 10 dozen Grange for the year! I mean don't they realise that such wine taxes will cost thousands of grape picking jobs, done by 457's and backpackers by the way. 2 Quote

(Which he refuses to share I might add) Just for your info, Bitter, but this is between me and thou and no-one else, I work in the wine business. Just like my noble grandparents in Voivodina/Banat. ( Just wondering, have you driven through there lately? Wondering because you do seem to get round and about and away from the cultural strictures of the Romsey basalt - I presume - mansion.) Old Dee is really drinking Pinos Cleen under another label - he probably thinks it's retsina in disguise - by the way. Have that on good authority. Never envy the free tipples of your neighbor, I always say, you don't know what brand of tipple they are really consuming. It could also be called Pinos Envy. And, as for that pretentious Onanist Moonshine Shadow, or, Moonie as you call him, he doesn't even know how to spell Kulture in English. Disregard anything he says. And, remember, volume is volume, whether it's metric or supine, or perpendicular. My motto is, Don't let Pseuds confiscate any of my 3 or so remaining brain cells.Think about it and I encourage you to emulate that state of karma. Edited April 4, 2017 by dieter 1 Quote
