Interesting article in Saturday age recognising the significance of banana prices.

confirms the the foresight and relevance of this this threads contributors

The premise that we react one way or another in our economic outlook depending on the prices of bananas probably says more about our distant knuckle dragging forebears than any sense of fiscal reality

The banana smoothie is an accepted leader in the smoothie genre, but the banana milkshake lags well below chocolate, strawberry and vanilla in the milkshake department.

As Professor Julius Sumner miller used to say on TV some years ago, " why is it so"?

I think the addition of a large dollop of ice cream and some malt powder improves the banana milkshake immeasurably. Of course, with those things added it is no longer a common or garden variety milkshake. It is a thickshake

We're quite an enlightened mob really... Well, mainly.....well some

interesting yes, eccentric yes, diverse yes, perverse yes, off beat yes, sicko yes, cerebral....at times, enlightened....I will have to think about that...,,

I haven't ventured onto this thread in a number of years, perhaps five hundred hundred pages ago, but I'm pretty sure the same conversation about bananas and smoothies was going on then too and between the same posters. With all that has happened in the world in that time it is almost reassuring to see some things don't change.

Will check back after Flag 14.

My memory of milkshakes is they always had a scoop of ice cream. A thick shake had 3-4 scoops.

The talk of bans, moderators (how Orwellian is that), political correctness, fake news and Donald Trump has given me cause to rise from my slumber and re-engage with the world, in particular, this thread. You realise Biff that my posts or lack thereof are mood related. But Trump, Turnbull and Bernardi have got me going.

We are as happy or as unhappy as we decide to be Hem.

Great to see you back on deck.

Whilst none of us can ever agree on a definition of truth it seems,a few truths are hitting home to the Parliamentarians.Cory really timed his exit/re-entry beautifully but then he never stood for an election to get in.

Cutting travel allowances for ex-ministers is probably the greatest thing the battler from Point Piper has done so far.

My two least fave porky politicians are Kim Beazley and Alexander the Downer ,yet they know the system well enough to have gotten themselves diplomatic posts.

Their daddies must have taught them that one.

Take one aluminium mixing container. A " deep " scoop of vanilla icecream out of the big tub. 3 good squirts of desired flavour. Fill to about 2/3 with milk.....under the mixing 'propeller' it went.

Pour into thick milkshake/parfait glass and together with leftovers in the ally cup... Presto...there was your milkshake. You invariably still got to play 'stab' the icecream as there was always a little blob left.

Think i need one right now !!!

Spot on description bb.

I have all the equipment right here but alas we are out of ice cream or I would make one right now.

I  must have consumed 1000  before I was sixteen.

Warning, don't light a banana at the beach, you could get "smoke on the water".

Why is everyone so disappointed with Nicole Kidman?

She started her career as Queen of the town bikes,

Built her international face on a Cruise ship

and now seems to be an Urban play thing.

Nobody is Lily white......

Ok-I admit i worked on that one.

Still makes me more worthy of hosting the Oscars than Billy Crystal.

Who has died recently

Again,

Exactamundo- then we could go blow away a few buffalos with an AK47 or even an RPG to let off some steam.

Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
