Melbourne has a habit of disappointing terribly and Collingwood may well chop the Dees up, but the Pies have big names out and last year the Dees got close to the eventual premiers twice. There is undeniable excitement in the Melbourne camp about Monday's game. The Demons will never admit it but beating Collingwood in front of their biggest crowd of the year would be like a grand final.

Martin Flanagan is not just the best football writer there is, but one of the best full stop. Love reading his stuff, footy or not.

If only it were more the likes of he and John Harms that garnered the attention of the football reading world, not Mark Robinson and Mike Sheahan.

I don't like it either - but we all know the point he's making is that given Melbourne is a stretch to play finals and hasn't played in the big one for a decade, this is the next best thing. And it's true. I'm absolutely psyched for this match (have to admit, my hatred for Collingwood is far less than for Carlton - but they'll get theirs soon enough).

Make no mistake , if we can roll the Pies this place will go into meltdown asif we did win the flag . ;)
