If they dummy bid, then yes.

I'd be very happy with 2 of Whitfield, Toumpas, Grundy, O'Rourke, Mayes, Kennedy, etc. then use Pick 13 & our 2nd Rnder... as well as trading in some maturity.

Jack viney will come to the dees in the 2nd rnd because we will take martin with pick 3.

This is something i was told at the game Saturday watch this space.

GC will not bid in the mini draft 2012.

3. Martin

4. Toumpas

13.Stringer

24.Viney

OK, I see, GWS get pick 3 to go with their Pick 1. They want Whitfield & Grundy it seems.

GCSuns Pick 2 - who'll they take? Toumpas? Not Viney?

I'm happy with the list you've nominated thru your first 4 picks for us.

So in this scenario, what us to stop gc bidding for viney?Doubt gc would take grundy with 2, assuming gws use 1 for whitfield.

Will be sending one ricky bobby very cheap i think.

Not sure we are interesting in Martin - apparently has shades of Morton. Looks great among kids.

What Ive heard we are interested in Toumpas and not string beans. Even if that stringbean is called the human highlight and draws the ball like a young Goodes.

I would much rather that pick 3 going to Toumpas, 4 going to Hogan (we can work on his set shots over 2013)/be used on another midfielder, 12 being used to nab another midfielder/be used in a trade/be used to grab a skilful half backman, and use the 2nd rounder on Viney as has been mentioned

I'm all for that. What ever gets Hogan I am happy with.

I've got one for you, provide some Evidence that Viney is in the top 5 best in this Draft, "Clown" you sound very much like another postor who uses similar writing styles & putdowns to try to imply an inner strength & a valid argument.

And only 19 posts too.

Who's bidding are you doing?

You are a [censored] end of the highest order.

I'm guessing you're accusing him of being me, after accusing me of being a Viney.

Mods can you please assure this FOOL that I have NO aliases.

You have been shown time and time again that your claims that no one rates Viney top 5 are a nonsense but you play the man not the ball in reply, the classic tactic of a man with a weak argument. [censored]

Get a life if you think that by having eight thousand posts somehow your opinion is more valid than mine.

Have a look at this guys mock draft, obviously watches a lot more under age football than you do

Has him rated only behind Daniher, O'meara and Whitfield, of which we can only take one, basically saying he is the second best available selection.

Jog on you loser

We need a 1 KPP of our top 4. If Stringer is unlikely to slip to 13 then we should take Hogan instead of Martin.

Is the minidraft done after the normal draft? If so it could be something like

Option 1

3. Toumpas

4. MD 1 (Martin)

13. Stringer

26. Viney

If Stringer dosn't last

Option 2

3. Toumpas

4. MD1 (Hogan)

13. Kennedy/Garlett/Vlastuin

26. Viney

Interesting that Mathew Haynes has dropped right back in the mock draft to the 50's, looked like he would be a top 10 the year before. Tall & very quick. Wouldn't mind him as a late pick.

i also heard we rate toumpas very highly also. even oliver wines who is built like a brickshitouse and ready to go straight away would be a good get. watching adelaide outmuscle us on the weekend shows wy we need bigger bodies.

Ah, the orchestra has started playing the company tune.

All finding pitch together in harmony.

Sing along now.

I'm really concerned with taking a 17Yr old skinny kid from across the country.

I'd much prefer the powerfully built kid Who has shown to like to play aggressively.

If it means we take Viney with Rnd 2, I'm all for it. (Pick 3, or 4 for Hogan)...

Most apt username ever.

From the Casey local paper:

Lovett was unsure of the make-up of the Scorpions' line-up. But he did confirm highly rated youngster Jack Viney will return after serving a one-week suspension.

"The finals exposure will give him some experience for next year."

I don't care how good some of you think Martin looks, massive risks with him and I am not talking Jack Darling type risks. If we a really going for MD take Hogan don't take Martin and I believe Neeld will go the same option.

I dont think we will take any risks this time around. We have to have learnt from our mistakes and perhaps bad luck,

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
