Stynes claims the club is "absolutely" right behind Dean Bailey (lets hope with a knife!)

If it was anyone besides Jimmy Stynes saying it, I'd be worried if I was Bailey.......he's safe for the time being!

This means the instant shift is out the window. the mini referendum we all just did. I think there's been a change since mondays board meeting. A shift in timing?

A change of what ??

Why can't you just take Stynes' comments on face value ?

Personaly after thursdays loss, i wanted blood, calling for Bailey head.

I think i may have over reacted.

I've calm down now  , and i'am back behind Bailey....

I'm not - nothing has changed, nor will it while he's in charge

Part one of the death sentence.

The media are geniuses, the way they have managed to twist it so that a showing of support means the exact opposite in the eyes of the plebs.

No show of support would have the exact same effect - "Bailey is under fire and the administration has shown absolutely no support to him - he's gone!"

Either way, they get their headline and Bailey is on a hiding to nothing, all because of the sea of uneducated supporters.

Hands up those who want Roos installed as coach..?

Interesting that in his article last week on how to beat the press, he espoused some of the very same tactics Bailey is using, and he points out that Essendon are using them to great effect.

We just don't yet have to cattle to properly pull it off.

The kids need time to grow.

You're sick of hearing it?

Well that's something you need to deal with, because no amount of coaching rotations will change that.

Yes we do. How long can we keep trotting out that lame excuse? Year after year after year after year? Don't you ever get tired of saying it? Tired of the mediocrity we have been conditioned to accept as Dees supporters?

Roos got the best of workmanlike players like Crouch, Fosdike, the Boltons, Buchanan and O'Keefe. He saw players like Goodes, Hall and Kirk become champions who bled for the cause, week in - week out. He got them to two Grand Finals and damned well won one of them for Chrissakes.

We've got the cattle. We just don't have the heart under the present coach.

Artie...This time it has got nothing to do with the Media...This all started last thursday night during the game ON HERE. Right or Wrong the supporters en masse had had enough and all jumped onto the keyboard at the same time...The Media followed.

That said the rest of your post does have some Merit

Nah, there were rumblings, but the ral deal came through last thursday....i have never felt the Demon Supporter react like that before.

Usually people would sigh and slink off to bed at 3/4 time....Toss & Turn in silence & then cop Shite at work Friday...But not last thursday!!! And people all reacted at the same time!!!

interesting. A few weeks earlier I said in a pm to someone "the tribe is very restless". I certainly "felt" it and it wasn't the usual up and down.

And you were right, we are all still recovering from the Round 2 game against the Dawks...But Thursday took it to another level that i have not felt in my whole time of following the MFC.

In one respect i am glad, because i think the days of general apathy are over.

Garbage. It has everything to do with the media. Artie is on the money. We already had Caro and the press corp pulling to pieces Cameron Schwab's alleged gaffe in not publicly supporting Dean Bailey. They were already circling for a kill so much so that Stynes had to publicly step in and defend the coach. Even you dined out on the Caro article. Thursday's events only heightened the smell of blood for the media. The knee jerk reaction of supporters was there own issue and provided a side show for the media to feast on.

That's your opinion and certainly not nine...Before thursday was no more than a rumble. But yes i was right about the Article in the Australian with our CEO's words, thanks for noticing that at least.

I'm with WYL.

Thursday was Hawks 3rd qtr revisited, which was any game you like in the first half of 2008 revisited. This is simply supporter rage. Remember, it was Green after the Hawks game who said he thought such efforts/games were behind them (referring to 2008). Nothing I have seen this year suggests this is so; Thursday confirms it.

The media are simply vultures; they can smell a carcus a mile off and will feed off it given half a chance. The MFC is giving them plenty of chance.

We've got the cattle. We just don't have the heart under the present coach.

Read the article and you'll see that we don't.

Roos talks about it being effective for Essendon because they can play 3 ruckmen, with 2 being very capable forwards, allowing 3 very tall targets to kick to coming out of defense.

We only really had Jamar on thursday, as a tall target we could back to win the aerial contest.

It's not the only area of the game where we failed, but it contributed to the result.

Fortunately we have Howe, Cook, McDonald, Spencer, Martin, Gawn, Fitzpatrick and Davis all being developed.

None are quite ready yet.

Roos wouldn't have changed that - he recycles already developed players.

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res
