That hard work starts on Monday.

"Our immediacy is to get on the front foot at training and ensure our performance next week is a lot better than we produced," Bailey said.

Jones said emotions were "running high" as the players returned home to a groundswell of anger from supporters.

"Expectation is greater and we aren't really delivering. It's back to the drawing board, because it was a poor effort we put out," Jones told the club's website.

It was Melbourne's 11th consecutive loss in Perth.

"When you travel interstate you obviously want to get off to a good start

Really??

I would have thought it wouldnt matter whio you are playing or where ?

Getting of to a good start in todays AFL football is a Imperative

We basically never get of to a good start !!!

Now in saying that I bet the next weekend we play we do

LOL

It's all just Talk...We need a Football Dept that knows how to win finals....That costs $$$ but we now have the cash to do it.

Get onto it Schwabby.

I'm starting to think that Nathan Jones should be our Captain. Not the best player, but always hard at it. Doesn't [censored], and keeps in touch with what the fans are saying. Good trainer, doesn't get in trouble, and is a strong leader. I'm for it.

I'm not for so many reasons the main one being, he's not that good.

Beamer should be made Captain this week, i do not care what happened 2 weeks ago. He is the only player there that has leadership qualities. It is in his blood. Use it.

Sorry but we don't have the money...Collingwood spends nine(9) times more on their Football department than we do.

Yes we actually do have money now. If the club spent up big on coaches right now i would fully support it. Otherwise we may as well shut the door.

We are now also part of the MCC again...This club must be proactive on the field.

I'd say all fluff....MFC fluff.

If the MFC fluff does not stop now gOLLy then it's curtains.

I truly believe thursday night was line in the sand stuff, not for the players But from the supporters.

After 47 years the supporters are finally saying enough is enough.

I hope the MFC is listening.

WYL, it's getting to the stage where you're just posting for the sake of posting.

I reckon your last 20 posts would all be sprouting pretty much the exact same thing.

Absolutely, it's quite a simple solution. It just depends on whether the club has the Balls to do it or not.

Bailey says "The hard work starts on Monday" - so what have they been doing for the last 6 months?

Exactly...How many new starts can you have.

When Scully and McKenzie return to the side Jones should be running around in the scooby doos. He certainly doesn't have any acceleration or clean skills so he must be in the side to win the clearances. He had none against WC and usually only gets a couple most days. He has been in the system long enough to develop and I think he has reached his ceiling. Might be a top bloke and say all the right things in the media but he should be put up for trade or shown the door at the end of his current contract.

This is being a tad disingenuous.

Jim Stynes was pushing for a Salary Cap on all Football Departments just a month ago..Why?...because he knows we will never match the money Collingwood, Essendon, West Coast and a few other are spending on the FD and player Development.

Disagree, he is one player who tends to stand up when the tide is against us.

Required best 22 player for mine, has had to temper his ultra aggressive mindset and appears to be making progress.

This is about as accurate as your understanding of debt. I would keep you well away from the finances. Like giving a pyromaniac a lit match near petrol.

Ugh...The player that disappears in big games..I think we found out pretty well what was in his blood 2 weeks ago.

Goes missing in the heat and a definite C grader who's position should be under scrutiny when Scully and McKenzie return.

Another of the leadership group that aint one on the field.

We might as well just Pack it in with that attitude, because it will not happen.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
