Caroline Wilson writes on alleged "tension" at the MFC

You better keep your opinions to yourself mate. I see you are another "rookie" on this site and they are howling you down and asking you to "P" off already. (take the rest of the week off) Please agree with the "established" members or be prepared to cop some sarcasm and fair dinkum berating !!! Oops I am in trouble again... I started this post and I have certainly started something I never dreamed I would... Ha !! Ha !! I especially love the Guy called Biease (is it an i or an l ?? Some have found it hard to tell the difference I have been told). Agree, take a soft line or as you have already been told. "take a holiday"

It's this kind of self-pitying and carping that I think people are taking exception to, and not so much a difference of opinion. Your actual views (I.e that the club and it's supporters are too complacent, that Bailey is too soft as a coach and we need to replace him if we want to progress to the next level) are pretty mainstream on this forum and, if you'll pay a bit more attention, are even shared by a fair few senior members. You tend to get more flak because you get so indignant when people disagree with you.

The other thing is, I could swear I've read some posts by you (please don't ask me to find them) where you have accused people who take the opposite view to your own (I.e, people who've argued that Bailey has us on the right track and can coach us to a premiership, but that we need to give the list a couple more years to develop) of having their heads in the sand. I'm not sure how you can reasonably argue that this is any better.

Re Bailey, there are not just the two arguments that you've given - he's soft/get rid of him, or developing list/give him time. The other one that has been put more than once here, is that at this comparatively early stage to the season, we just don't have enough information to be making that kind of a call.

we sure will have enough info after the next 3 weeks, A lot of first year AFL players played some top line football over the easter weekend, it's time for some of our boys to step up. And our coaching staff to get our young players to that level.

Heppell & Crammery in front of 90,000 yesterday.....Yes our list needs more game time, but so does every other team in the AFL.

Are you serious?? It's funny you know, but I have always been of the opinion that emoticons such as the classic "winky" ( ;) ) are intended to provide a visual clue as to the lack of seriousness in a response and/or comment. Is this your first time on an internet forum?

I'm not sure that the Baseball analogy really fits...

But Collingwood and Geelong didn't move for their Jon Papelbon, they stuck with their Roy Halladay and he threw some decent pitches down the stretch and into the last, and they....

You get the point...

We will see how the season progresses and the club will make this big decision as best they can.

Ah dear Jon....

The day a Dees player dances on the back of a tilt tray (flat bed in the USA) truck through the middle of the city to celebrate a flag (Championship) is the day I'll be happy that dear Jon was mentioned here.

"I'm shipping up to Boston"...Go Sox, Go Dropkicks, Dear Jon, Go DEES!!

Sorry, just lost myself in that Red Sox euphoria for a moment.

Caro is an awesome journo by the way! B)

(On a side note; I thought the off season was bad in here. This forum needs round 6!)

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
