I've heard of people reading too much into practice matches before - but not so much from people who didn't even see the game!

I do not need to see the game.

Only one thing matters Hawthorn won we lost end of story!

That's at odds with what the Clubs usually say. "It's all about the process. If we do the little things right, the wins will come." Only one thing may matter to you, but as long as you're not in charge of the process, I'm happy. If you were, then we'd really be in trouble.

So in which year does winning games become important?

I have watched the process for 44 years it has not produced a flag yet?

What if the process is wrong?

How long do I hang my hat on the "process" I have watched this latest "process" for three years. has it another year to go two years to go?

is 2014 the year i can start worrying about winning?

any idea?

Gee that makes March 27 look enjoyable I wonder how "process" will play that day.

Glad you pointed it out too me now I can enjoy the game knowing it is all about the "process"

I realise you are frustrated but...

So in which year does winning games become important?

I know you're being flippant but for those knew to accomplishing anything - the process involves getting to the accomplishment, it is the making of it - literally.

I have watched the process for 44 years it has not produced a flag yet?

As Melbourne supporters - we know that as it was, it will always be.

And that those currently involved at the club are to blame for the past decades of failure.

What if the process is wrong?

How long do I hang my hat on the "process" I have watched this latest "process" for three years. has it another year to go two years to go?

Winning will come when the pieces of the process are adhered to;

- when the forwards pressure

- when the midfield presents, runs, and takes risks

- when the defence is bold, confident, and applied all over the ground

And I would take issue with any intimation that we haven't improved since 2008. As one of many who went each week back then - there is little comparison...

Except for the process that Bailey wants the team to adhere to.

Gee that makes March 27 look enjoyable I wonder how "process" will play that day.

The process was shown to be working in the corresponding fixture in 2010 when we destroyed the Swans at the MCG.

The players know it, and are capable, and the can win when they do what is expected of them.

But they are young, and developing, and, perhaps, just not good enough to be apart of it long term.

I can assure you - the process won't change, but the results will.

Just out of idle curiosity, and this can only be directed to the few that actually saw the game, did it appear to any that there was indeed some rudimentary practicing of "drills" Ie as though theyd been instructed to persist with a particular style or play regardless of effect. To keep at it regardless of outcome as though experimental. The game to this observer ( or not as it was ) seemed very much of two halves.

Thoughts ??

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
