Injury woes are kicking in now....oh, how quickly a nearly fully fit list turns to one with a long injury list! Haven't heard anything about Jordan Gysberts or Luke Tapscott. They are presumably injured, but why no mention of them? Anybody know anything?

I would not be too concerned. Tapscott and Gysberts is purely they had not completed the relevant training load to start games. This if anything is injury prevention. I would say most of our injured list aside from Chip, Morton, Petterd, Campbell, Newton most would play if we were into the season. I would not be too concerned.

Spoke to cam schwab at intraclub last week. Both tapscott and gysberts are on modified programs due to last year's injury problems. They probably both need to be treated as first year players would in that respect. They also need to rebuild their bodies in terms of core strength and some guys who look big are not neccessarily strong in some areas and vice versa. So neither are injured (good news) but neither are ready and they arte taking an ultra conservative approach due to their first year injury woes so they don't break down again. That is my understanding anyway...

A bit like what happened with Grimes.

No cause for concern, in my opinion.

jeez we're an impatient lot...

What about Max Gawn. How far away is he?

I saw Luke Tapscott at Chadstone yesterday with a nice looking lady friend. Didn't look like he was hobbeling around or anything.

Our list management is doing all the corrct things to ensure what is hopefully a injury free start for these young guy's. Once upon a time this approach may not have been taken.

Gee Luke is a big fella for such a young kid. I would certainly hate to get hip and shouldered by him !!

Probably just hipped .

Again training loads. He played intraclub, so expect to see him at some stage in nab cup (probably couldn't get a big enough plane for him to get to adealide tonight!)

I managed to speak to Max Gawn and Luke Tapscott at Intraclub, what was said in this thread is correct, managing them, Tapscott in particular is a bit '[censored] off', he is ready to go and wants to play but understands what the club is doing so his career lasts a bit longer than one more serious injury....asked about Gysberts they told me the same thing......young growing bodies.....also spoke to Jack Grimes at the AGM and asked him particularly about the managing....he said he would prefer to be on 60 games now but totally appreciates how and why......feels ready to rip this season.....and is so pumped from elevation to leadership group he wants to put in 22 big ones.....

its a hard life being an AFL player.

While they paid the big bucks they have a lot of "home work" to do when recovering from injuries...

Injury prevention at its best

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
