WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH

if you read the article it says he'd like to play for melbourne, we have had a little bit of contact but basically only said look we want to watch you over the year and see how you go, so he would be feeling the better he plays the better his chances which is exactly what we want.

my point is that why would he say "melbourne have been in serious contact with me, they are stoked that i have been able to put some muscle on my body and follow the gym program they have provided me over the last 18 months. Now that i have been able to get into the senior side at glenelg the coaching staff have all but assured me they will pick me up with a father sone pick."

that neither benefits the club nor him

Except it's not really his form that will dictate whether he comes to us. As he projects from anywhere between a late first rounder and a 3rd or 4th round pick it's all going to come down to the bidding system I think. As long as he plays well and keeps improving I've got no doubt we will look to have him as a father son nomination but if someone says he's worth a late first round pick we might have to make a tough choice to take him with a second rounder. I'm sure that's the reason for the lack of commitment from both sides. It's the unfortunate problem with the changed father son system that you really don't know if you'll commit to someone unless they are Jack Viney or Joe Daniher level good.

the thing is he has to show he is better than the other players around the mark of each pick we have, we don't just pick him because his dad played for us and he's forms okay, we have to pick the best player that's there with every pick, if that means overlooking billy so be it

having said that i think he probably will come to us as an early 3rd round pick and that might be abit of a steal, i rate billy about the pick 30 mark atm, but like we saw with Zac Jones last year, solid form could see his standing rise significantly.

Billy Stretch 24 possessions for SA under 18 team's win against Vic Country played today. The kid is looking like a good prospect.

I wish Billy would pump the brakes a bit.

It's important for him to develop well, but a foot stress fracture wouldn't go astray at this stage.

I'd settle for just doing his hammy

Clearly time for Billy to be suspended from school for some undisclosed indiscretions.

Roosy should put in a call telling him to settle down

Someone just start some 'drunken sex romp' rumours

Or rumours that he's mates with Tony Abbott.

I'm not sure about the drunken part, but I did hear that he got stoned and took part in a bondage orgy after the game. He wore his studs for the whole night.

Yes

Exciting,

Cant wait

Need to hunt down some footage of the boy

Yes, or he was in the bests and they wanted to pun a headline so people would click on it...

Someone just start some 'drunken sex romp' rumours

We don't want that.

The Blues, Filth and Bummers will be queueing up to nab him.

Or rumours that he's mates with Tony Abbott.

or mates with Jack Darling ?

Or rumours that he's mates with Tony Abbott.

I heard he's currently dating the Mad Monk's daughters..... all of them.

He has attitude issues and will not be taken in the draft any higher than 60th or so .

This is the news we should be circulating about him.

The Crows are trying to inflate his worth.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
