Featured Replies

November 12, 2010: We are currently sitting on 11,922 members. At the same stage last year we had an extra 1,141 people signed up, with a tally of 13,063.

Maybe I should sign up.

I'll keep it running for you guys.

Good on you eth. I got my call to arms the other day and am just waiting for a bit of cash to roll my way. I think I might upgrade my membership to a 16-game one this year.

Price of living, Bills etc has gone up a hell of a lot over the last 12 months, i still think we will get a record membership for next year. I just feel people will sign up later.

Blame Brumby and the new "Smart Meter" as a start. GRRR B)

Thanks Chook. The 16 game memberships are definitely worth it, as my mum found it annoying paying $20 to get into games when she already had an 11 game one. I don't know how much it is upgrading (considering I don't pay for mine, this year was my last as a Young Demon) but it's definitely worth it.

It will be harder this year to grow our memberships with out good early performance. We have hype that has been created last year and will go into 2011, a good profit announcement over the next few days a couple of new sponsers announcements will continue to build the hype leading into the season but early wins can push our membership to 38-40,000. It would be nice to win some preseason games, from memory I think we have won 1 in three years.

I should probably be asking the club this but does anyone happen to know if you can keep your current reserved seat on the lower level if you upgrade to a redlegs membership, or are you forced to move up to level 2?

My Dad has had the renewal invoice sent to him, but I have not got mine, and I need it so i can pay online, I can't contact the club cos I dpon't get home til after 5.

Is there a email addy that will get some one to reply to me?

I can't believe more of you don't pay by direct debit (over a 12 month period). Painless.

I've been doing It for years.. You dont even notice the money being taken out. Best way of paying!

Last years membership took a hit when we lost to Freo during the pre-season , few realised that Freo were going to be the big movers in the comp .

We'd been touched up by another lower ladder side and improvement over the summer seemed non-existant .

Then we came out and had our pants pulled down by Hawthorn in rd1 , mmmnn bad times they were.

If you were on the fence thinking about a membership at the time , you might've kept your dough .

If they can come out come firing with some strong early games , those on the fence will get on board .

38-40,000 would be brilliant but 36-37,000 max IMO .

Kinda curious as to what perc utilise the direct debit method. Your membership just rolls over. You dont even need to think about it..Too easy.

I appreciate for some with multiple ( family etc ) type payments it might be a bit before xmas but for most its very simple.

I do :)

edit : didnt see that post above ..lol

Direct debit is the way to go. We have country family and cheersquad and you dont notice the payments go.

Up to 15,123 today. Up from 14,292 on Monday. Busy staff in the membership processing department since Monday!

Just upgraded my membership for 2011.

I have a 17 game membership, where do premium MFC members sit at the away games?

As far as i know there is no designated spot for members at away games. Its normally the general admission areas in the top stands.

I go to the Ponsford stand, 2nd or top level, mainly because the cheer squad sit at that end.

Thanks for updating guys, they hadn't updated it for at least a week, so I forgot about it.

November 25, 2010: As previously posted, we've cracked 15k. Currently our tally is at 15,123, 811 more than this stage last year, where we were at 14,312. It's roughly a 6% increase.

Note to everyone, sign up by November 26 (wait, that's tomorrow) and you get a free 2011 MFC calendar and you go into the draw to win either two tickets to our 2011 best and fairest or two changeroom passes to any Dees game at the MCG.

I keep forgetting to remind my mum.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
