My boys played well. Run game was established early and went very well. D was exceptional, especially at the LoS. Secondary wasn’t really pushed at all which I sure Brady will, but I reckon my boys can really get to Brady and force him to throw quickly or under pressure.

Scrappy game loaded with mistakes ... Packers have been way below average but the 49ers haven't been able to take advantage (so far)

Niners defence has been very good and they get the ball to start the 2nd half

49ers win and well deserved too.  Packers bog average especially on offense.  The wide receivers couldn't create separation and Rodgers wasn't at his best

But the Niners defence was the difference as well as their running game, run defence and pass defence.  They played a good all round game and were the better team on the day

2 intense games. Both won with FG's at the death. Massive chokes from the Titans and Packers

49ers can;t win from here with Garoppolo. Oline has to step up and protect Burrow better. If they do the Bengals are a chance next week

Tomorrows games should be rippers

The Packers didn't choke, we came out rusty from the bye and were just outplayed

And the Packers are a team that needs to keep playing ... that continuous play allows Rodgers to hit deep targets (which didn't happen today)

There are no excuses but Green Bay's reliance on Rodger's magic is flawed.  It works most of the time but against a decent team with all round skills, that style can come undone (as it did today)

The Niners turned it into a grinding affair with strong defence.  Credit to them.  Once the bad weather set in it was always going to be a line-ball game.

Nor do I reckon that the Titans choked ... in an even season gaining the 1 seed was nothing to get too excited about.  One win here or there decided things

And both games were decided by a field goal ... if either team were thrashed, you might have a point.  But the choke jibe usually comes from the ill-informed cheap seats ... or from bad winners or bad losers

And on this site, those types are everywhere

Was a very scrappy game at Lambeau,  as is to be expected with the frigid conditions. Special teams ended up being the difference.

The niners first 11 offensive plays went for -10 yards,  yet somehow we went in at the break only a single score down.  The offence finally found a bit of rhythm in the second half,  but Jimmy G still didn't end up with a TD. At least he started hitting Kittle and Deebo more often,  and we managed to quieten the cheese heads.

It was ugly, but it was winning ugly so I'll take that, that's 0-4 for Rodgers in play off's against the niners  now, onward to the NFC championship game!

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
