Aussie Michael Dickson had a fabulous night punting. Getting huge raps in the States too (Punters are rarely even talked about)

He's come a long from being on the fringes as a draft candidate in the AFL. His initial dream became a bigger dream, that came true

Grats on the win Macca!

The Rams/Pats was bad but because the Rams were playing and it was super close all game I still was glued to the set, but today I left the lounge, went in the back room and watched the second half on the laptop so I could do other things before I gave up and went for a run.

D wins again. Makes me wish that AD99 was still playing, last two years with him could have been much better. I hope they throw the sink at Crosby.

Horrible game but I'll tell you what, some of the defensive performances were phenomenal.

Murph and Hall leading the way, Lawrence balled out as usual. I loved the Mills sack where he took care of the centre and then dumped Maye, Aaron Donald would have smiled at that one.

You could say that the NE O-line was terrible and you'd be right, but the Seahawks didn't have to do a lot to totally manhandle them at the line of scrimmage. They hardly blitzed and still came through with a 52% pressure rate. That's just a D that is way too good.

If it wasn't a 'MVP for the whole defense' game then it was definitely a special teams MVP game. I wasn't looking forward to the Aussie media running this story into the ground but in this case it was deservedly so, Dickson was incredible with his punting on the night. My favourite had to be that low trajectory kick that found the coffin corner. Can you remember a better punting performance in a Superbowl?

Then there is Jason Meyers with 5/5 field goals, a new record in the big game.

Special teams matter!

They sure do. Cost the Rams three games this season.

I got lucky in the 2nd week of the playoffs when I took a few chances just to try and get back into the running (after having a horror week 1)

Just dumb luck, DZ!

Can we take a moment to reflect on how bad my tipping performance was in the playoffs?

Forget getting sacked 5 times in the Superbowl, that was a special kind of debacle.

@layzie I see the niners look like playing in Mexico city, is that for this upcoming season? Aus and Mexico in the one year!

So many Niners and Rams fans are whining about the game in Aus, if you guys have a second international game... 80S Mind Blown GIF

Yeah looks like it, the owner is always keen on Mexico.

It's definitely going to peeve Kyle off though..

New titans logo has been leaked. Harks back to the oilers look a bit.

More teams have applied for new uniforms, logos etc. supposedly Rams are one of them.

Tyreek Hill or Bradley Chubb anyone?

Yeah I've just sat down to watch NFL Live at work, Hill doesnt interest me, How well has Chubb been the last 12-24 months?

Hill doesn't interest me either, he's just a Go router at this point.

I thought Chubb was on the road back this season. Not his best numbers but he does get double teamed a lot. I could see him being a good 2nd or 3rd rusher somewhere.

30mil he was going to be paid this year, cant see anyone paying him 30m, 15-18 would have teams all over him

Tremaine Edmunds has been given permission to seek a trade.

I really like him but $17m is a fair cap hit for a linebacker.

Yeah it is, and you have Trent Williams earning $32m unless they can get a new deal done.

I could see the Cowboys going for Edmunds.

Supposedly they are going at Maxx pretty hard.

They definitely should.

I reckon at least 10 teams would be in for Maxx.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
