with trade week coming up and a few players available i believe we should make a play for someone. wer at that point in our development where players can actually recognise that we are going to be a force. imo we should either go for mundy or salopek. mundy can be a great player for us and will be an a-grade player pretty soon while salopek is underated in victoria and is at a good age (25).

Mundy - Coming off a cracker of a season. Who ever gets his services you would think will be paying a "premium" price. Sadly, I'm not sure we are quite at that stage yet. Every man and dog seems to want him at their club.

Sal - Coming off an interrupted season, where he has struggled from a persistent shoulder problem. However, Port nearly to a man rate him very highly.

Big question is do either want to play for us? If either was prepared to commit to us. Surely, we would be in the hunt.

Exactly. I think the #12 pick has a lot more to offer than a 25 year old Mundy and on top of that, I'm pretty sure Freo will want more than just that pick. Trading for picks as opposed to players already in the system is the best way to go about this year's draft as far as I'm concerned. Like maybe Matthew Warnock for Carlton's first or second round draft pick?

I reckon we are at that stage. We are a side on the up on the "J" curve. He would compliment a young vibrant midfield and fill a void left by Junior. Would be perfect in rotation with McKenzie as the in and under. Quick response reflexes has Mundy.

I'd like to echo a few from the Mundy thread. I'm sure CC (maybe even CS) would be prudent enough to say "hello" to Mundy and catch up.

Perhaps a knowingly Junior retired with a smile on his face.

If we're after the best available, at least we know what we are getting with Mundy.

In the past we have had trouble attracting players to the club.

With our upwards trajectory and stunning new facilities as well as a fantastic administration I can see players wanting to join our club if they are headed back to Melbourne. That hasn't happened in my living memory and its very exciting.

Good times ahead.

the thing is no one has come out and said they would like to come play for us..

I would like to play for the Demons.

No one seeking a trade has named any club... (other that the Gold Coast Gravy Trainers)

We are a far more attractive proposition than we were 2 years ago. Time we all started to believe it.

Still I would be surprised if we traded at all.

Quick question - could we turn Justin Sherman into a small defender and in the process address one of the missing pieces in the Demon puzzle? He certainly has the pace to keep up with the most lightening of small forwards. He'd give us some rebound and help break the lines. He has the pace but does he have the temperament? His kicking isn't as bad as many suggest. New city, new team, new team-mates, new role . . . just a thought.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
